I am to simple to be a strawman, even the description of the strawman argument makes my head spin. All I know is that GOD appoints the real pastors and they are not sinners, teaching sinners about sin! And this is exactly what I tried to tell you... How can a pastor not be perfect, sinless and a Holy man if God appointed him for the PERECTING of the Saints!

And Ananda not all should be teachers. Now all is preachers... LOOK God said.. SOME as SOME as and SOME as. This is part of the churches problems, some people stand up in church and talks the biggest load of rubbish, and they think the Holy Spirit gave it to them to say. I once was so irritated by a woman explaining a psalm the people just sang, I almost shouted with frustration.

I hate it when people make a mockery of the Gospel, and this is what these "pastors" not appointed by God does CONSTANTLY in their "churches". If you want me really upset, start making "funny" or "comical" remarks when we are supposed to learn from the Holy Spirit! So many pastors want to "entertain" and so many make "funny" remarks so that the people laught at the remark. That is when my blood starts to boil. If I want stand-up comidy, i do not want my pastor to be the comic. He should be my spiritual leader. my SHEPHARD, not my jokes.

You asked what a church SHOULD look like... Well God's Church looks as it has always looked... Perfect pastors perfecting Saints for the work of the ministry... Becasue NOT A SINGLE person in ministry is not PERFECT in God's church!

Soon I will be in that church, and then if God permits, I will be able to minister in His will. Whether it is serving a table, or singing a psalm, or prophecy, or tongues, or revelations, WHATEVER He equips me with, I will do, because that is WHAT HE do! HE WORKS IN ALL WHOM HE HAS SANCTIFIED AND GLORIFIED!

I see neither of us is in the best of moods so I will only respond later again. Yes ANANDA I WANT I WANT... I HUNGER FOR HIS WILL IN MY LIFE WITH ALL I GOT...
Like a little hart panteth after water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, o God! MAybe God sees my WANT MY WANT, and He will grow tired of my nagging and give me what I WANT! A Holy church to worship the Holy GOD! AMEN!
alright Cobus, love you and we'll talk later God willing.

May Jesus lead and guide you to a church that will allow you to grow in His truth and become a fully functional member of His body.

I was just wondering what you think God's church should look like according to the Bible...
Wow! Nice post.

The gathering of believer in the most precious faith in God & Jesus Christ should look like a bunch of sinners (tall ones, fat ones, skinny ones, loud ones, short ones, quiet ones, old ones, very old ones, young ones, teens, children of all ages, babies, nursing mothers, single mothers, fathers, dead-beat fathers, single fathers, dead-beat mothers, celibate males, celibate females, married couples of opposite genders, widows, widowers, biblically divorced folks, folks like you & I), who have come seeking God for grace & mercy, believing their sins can and are forgiven them by the majestic work the Lord Jesus did upon the cross, and are all gathered together, at various places worldwide, in harmony, and loving one another in holy love, for the purpose of:

a) singing praises, Psalms & spiritual songs to God Almighty
b) prayer & supplication for God's will to be known
c) remembering the Lord's table (the bread & the wine as symbols of His body & His blood given for all sinners for the forgiveness of their sins)
d) hearing, learning & loving to practice the most holy & perfect word of God, which includes the Gospel, for faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.

That's what the church should look like. Now, what should the church "sound" like, it a totally different vector. :)

The Holy Spirit will not stay where he is not wanted. He will not heal people who push him to the side. I was with you until you got to these statement. God heals even when we are sinners. He heals people's hearts and reveals His truth to them.

I too have seen God do glorious wonders, healings an all. Nothing compared to what he's been wanting to do. I've seen him open heaven. I've seen his rain. I've seen his golden oil he pours on ours heads. Praise God I would love to hear more of these things

He wants to do so much more but lack of faith and lack of surrender he is not allowed. not allowed? I did not know God had to ask permission?

Lots of churches he's not even allowed in and the people have no clue. They are happy, they are comfortable. it is not that He is not allowed into these churches but that their lamps have been put out. Jesus tells us about these churches in Revelations. I'll get the scriptures in a minute

These same people will be saying Lord Lord and not get into heaven but while on earth they always knew they would enter the gates. Not!
Ok I agree that those who are comfortable and do not listen to the Holy Spirit are in big trouble but I would rather focus on the churches who are moved by the Holy Spirit. there is enough darkness in the world. let us comfort and edify each other and speak of the light?

here are the verses where Jesus tells us about the false churches and what will happen if they don't repent and change.

Revelations 3
14 “And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans[f] write,
‘These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God: 15 “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. 16 So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot,[g] I will vomit you out of My mouth. 17 Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked— 18 I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. 19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent. 20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. 21 To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.
22 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”’”

you see God rebuke and chastens them for He still loves them and He wants them to be zealous and repent.

Perhaps the pastor should do a sermon upon these verses?

James 4:3-5
New King James Version (NKJV)
3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures. 4 Adulterers and[a] adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. 5 Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously”?

anyways. hope you have a lovely day in the world God made ;)

amen :) thanks!

your words remind me of these verses :)

Revelations 7

9 After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, 10 and crying out with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” 11 All the angels stood around the throne and the elders and the four living creatures, and fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, 12 saying:

“ Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom,
Thanksgiving and honor and power and might,
Be to our God forever and ever.
Amen.”

maybe we should practice and proclaim NOW with the saints "SALVATION BELONGS TO OUR GOD WHO SITS ON THE THRONE, AND TO THE LAMB!"

Ananda, here is God's view on a church. First of all they are a gathering of SAINTS. Now here we have to get what tehe word SAINT in the Bible means. A Saint is a spiritually pure person. A moraly blameless person. A most holy one! Ananda, I believe in a church that GOD appointed the pastor, most members will come to that shursh as SAINTS. Holy People, as holy as God is holy! And the pastor, I believe the pastor is appointed by God to perfect those saints that attends his church. That pastor will be a perfect person, becasue God perfected him before He appointed him.

You see Ananda there is just way to many verses we contradict when we allow a pastor to be a sinner! WAY TOO MANY! And if we do allow the pastor to be a sinner, then we can allow sin in the church! If the head is wrotten what would the body look like. BUT... If the head is perfect, becasue Christ Jesus in the pastor is the head, then the Body will be perfect!

When we read the Bible and we learn ...... IF some of you sinned let the OTHERS pray for him... Or if your brother sineed against you do this... It is not like ALL sin all the time... Like it is in ALL the churches I attended. Then I have my doubts wheter God and His Spirit is there at all? Does the word not also teach us of great gatherings of whores and adulterers and murderers and liers and Sodomites and and and and... Yes Ananda and they crucified the Christ Himself. And they hate the Truth today still... AND THEY THINK THEY DO GOD A FAVOUR when they hurt or even kill a Truth preacher.

Ananda, the chruch where Jesus is head, is this church.... That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
You know the not having spot is ALL SIN IS GONE! and that holy is as holy as GOD!

Now here is the thing...God said we should seek Him with ALL our heart, soul and body, do you think the day you start repentance you will walk into a church like this.... Nope! You will be detined to a church like this, but not be part of it until you SEEKED God as He said.. THEN you will find HIM and this church!

Ananda my prayer for you and all who read this is.... " Lord please let us be part of this chuch, the only one that Jesus Christ Himself is the Head! Amen!"
you live in a fantasy.
and any church that might APPEAR to reach the perfection you demand would be a LEGALISTIC AND SPIRITUALLY ABUSIVE CULT. a sham.
they would demand OUTWARD expressions of perfection and obedience: WOMEN WEARING HEAD SCARVES, no pants for women, MEN WHO NEVER make a wrong move.

there are TONS of "churches" like that. not one of them is authentically Christian.

Christ came for sinners.
church is for SAINTS (SET ASIDE FOR CHRIST) who are justified BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH.
CHRIST'S PERFECT RIGHTEOUSNESS IMPUTED TO THEM BY FAITH.

you like strawmen Cobus. no one ever told you to go to a church where the pastor contradicts scripture.

get back to me when you have moved past seeing only yourself and start looking at others and how God wants you to help them instead of sit there and demanding all come and serve you. That the world revolve around and make YOU perfect instead of looking to see what GOD wants YOU to do and the good works HE has commanded you to be engaged in.

Get back to me when you actually believe God's words about the IMPUTATION and JUSTIFICATION work Jesus did on the Cross and truly understand what it means to be saved BY Grace Through Faith.

The Holy Spirit will not stay where he is not wanted. He will not heal people who push him to the side. I was with you until you got to these statement. God heals even when we are sinners. He heals people's hearts and reveals His truth to them.

  1. Acts 28:27
For the heart (the understanding, the soul) of this people has grown dull (stupid, hardened, and calloused), and their ears are heavy and hard of hearing and they have shut tight their eyes, so that they may not perceive and have knowledge and become acquainted with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their souls and turn [to Me and be converted], that I may heal them.
Acts 28:26-28 (in Context) Acts 28 (Whole Chapter)

Not to burst your bubble but there are many scriptures where God did not heal.

I too have seen God do glorious wonders, healings an all. Nothing compared to what he's been wanting to do. I've seen him open heaven. I've seen his rain. I've seen his golden oil he pours on ours heads. Praise God I would love to hear more of these things

He is so marvelous!! My daughter was hurting in her heart. My brother had died. I knew he was in heaven. My daughter wondered and it hurt her very much.

I was at my church and the Spirit of the Lord came so strong. Telling me to shout Jesus. So I did. I could feel wonderful awesomeness of God and I knew he was doing something.

My daughter came over and at her church she was crying out to God what happened to her favorite uncle. God opened heaven and he let her see my brother in heaven.

He wants to do so much more but lack of faith and lack of surrender he is not allowed. not allowed? I did not know God had to ask permission?

Your faith has made you well. Part of the reason the world is in such a mess Sister is the will of people. God has written and he must follow what is written. He can not do anything against a human will.

Why do think people are in hell and still going to hell. If it was up to me I would say all people go to heaven no matter what there own will says. Some call that the robot way. God wrote that people must want him.

God did his part. He gave his life, his blood. His power is there for only people who want him.

Lots of churches he's not even allowed in and the people have no clue. They are happy, they are comfortable. it is not that He is not allowed into these churches but that their lamps have been put out. Jesus tells us about these churches in Revelations. I'll get the scriptures in a minute

Well all the false teaching like we see here. God is dead. All that stuff. Some have never had the light in them. They live in delusion Sister.

Some has to do with people who did say yes Lord but want there will and not Gods will.

You must of heard the kinda like joke story of Jesus wasn't allowed in the church cause he wasn't dressed right. We have that mess here. You wear make up God hates you. Dear God he has baggy pants. God can't live inside of him. She has earrings God doesn't love her.

I actually had God speak out loud to me at this one church who say the mess of Gods power are for the bible days not now.

He said they do not allow me to dwell here.

These same people will be saying Lord Lord and not get into heaven but while on earth they always knew they would enter the gates. Not!

alright Cobus, love you and we'll talk later God willing.

May Jesus lead and guide you to a church that will allow you to grow in His truth and become a fully functional member of His body.

Ok the church I see. I don't think it come as near as pretty as the one in heaven with Rubies and Gold all over it. Cause God wants the money on earth to be spent on his children.

I like when a church is painted white on the outside. I know it makes no difference to God. I think a pink church would be cool! Pretty in pink!:p

I like when they have a cross on top. The grounds pretty and well taken care of cause the house of God is so special.

A church that is opened all the time is good. With someone in there to help one pray.

Where everyone loves each other no matter what. That we know everyone around us loves God just as much as we do. Everyone is smiling how could they not. No one is sick. No one is sad. No one is lonely. Everyone is is so happy they feel they may burst at any moment they are so filled with God inside of them.

There singing and they all see all the angels singing with them and they hear them.

God let me hear them once.

Where they all see the Holy Spirit standing with them.

They are there to worship and plan how they can do to help others in the world.

Don't point the finger so readily, you are the one that has quite a fantasy with all this 'amillennial stuff'. It is such a violation of objective truth to claim that Satan has been bound since the ascension of Christ, when there has been over 2,000 years of evidence to denounce and rebuff such a errant claim from the scriptures. You don't even consider the historical context of the nations of the earth and the diabolical (poneros) evil and deception that has subdued many of the nations into a total rejection of Christ and Him crucified and the church. This being was evidenced by the dark ages, the brutality of communism, the effects of darwinism and evolution and all the various forms of humanism and religious expression that involve the kingdoms of this world system.

This going all the way back to Cain and after the flood with Ham, Cush and Nimrod and the confusion of the tongue and the scattering of the people at the tower of Babel. Being such a Berean, how did you miss all of this, especially when all the kingdoms of the earth and their glory were offered to the Son of God by the devil (Satan), if He would only relinquish His position with the Father and fall down and worship him (Mt 4:8,9).

can you take your ad hominem attacks somewhere else?

or is this an example of what should NOT occur?

Acts 2 - 42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43 Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. 44 All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45 They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. 46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

I have more posts and spoke more about the local church and the edification of that church then any other poster on this site and have gotten so much flack for doing it, including from Zone, because it has been sadly lacking. Zone won't and can't deny that. I have invested more time than you and others put together on this site, through PMs and offline, trying to convince and persuade believers from all walks of life on the importance of having a pastor-teacher and a local assembly of believers to worship with, to the hear the word and doctrine, to grow in grace and knowledge of Christ and to participate in the work of the ministry. Please abstain from using this red herring crap on me and others with all your accusations of ad hominems, because it does not apply and it's tiresome, you just have a bone to pick with me and that's the truth, whether you like it or not. So there you have it. You don't like it, TOUGH, grow up in Christ and humble yourself along with all your ad hominem friends.

Please abstain from using this red herring crap on me and others with all your accusations of ad hominems, because it does not apply and it's tiresome, so does the personal attacks upon people and instead of addressing the issue on the thread. it grows tiresome to wait for people to act as mature Christians instead of backbiting bitter angry toddlers

you just have a bone to pick with me and that's the truth, whether you like it or not. no you can keep your bones of contention, just because you assert it as truth does not make it so. I could care less if you addressed me in the future but I will be respectful and answer if you do because that is how my Father taught me to be.

So there you have it. You don't like it, TOUGH, grow up in Christ and humble yourself along with all your ad hominem friends. you need to follow your own advice
you don't even know what the phrase "ad hominem" means do you?

it is either ignorance or willful disrespect and arrogance.

I don't play fetch, you can have your bone and have a nice day.

you words are suppose to show maturity in Christ?

why do you make issues and topics personal and attack the person and their character instead of address them in a Christian manner?

You get emotional and you lash out. it is a reoccurring pattern for you. Perhaps you should learn to tame your tongue and go to God in prayer instead of lashing at others with your emotions and anger?
