I was thinking of asking this in the "I've always wanted to ask..." thread, but figured it is a good enough stand alone topic.

So! Why did you choose your chat nickname? Would you change it if you could? Do you have it on multiple sites?
1. To be different
2. No
3. Yes

:D

I chose my CC nickname for one simple reason. The fulll version is too much to type. My nick stands for the name my friends gave me. Tractor Dan because i'm always working on something or another. The 14 is for my birthday. So not a great story but it's mine. Ohhh and i use it on a few other sites. I float between TD14, Clutch, and TD1492.

Well, I chose my nick because it's my name. ;) Haha My real name is Jennifer Elizabeth (additional middle name) (last name), and when I wrote a book this year I decided to use the pseudonym "Genipher Elizabeth." I like it. It's unique, and yet still me. :)

Short version.

When I first started coming to CC, registering a nick was optional. At the time, I used kakiss16 as my screename just about everywhere. Well, it wasn't a very christian name, so I soon decided to stop using it.

So, I was quite a trouble maker back in the day. Most of you are probably not familiar with the old setup, but there used to be temporary (momentary) kicks at the mod's disposal alone with IP bans. Well, I was quite a trouble maker back in my teen years and pushed more than a couple of the mods buttons. There was one in particular who I would perpetually hassle; his nick was ThunderBolt2000.

Well, as I figured it, if Thunder Bolts, then Lightning Claps. And thus my nick was born, registered it shortly after and well, the rest is history(or should I say part of the long version). I have since used it in several variations, primarily the super shortened form lghtngclp.

I don't think I'd change it, though it's long, people just get confused with "lghtngclp"; hopefully the length doesn't annoy too many people.
You are my hero!

I was found and adopted from Seoul, South Korea, though I have lived in the US all my life, so it just seemed fitting :). It represents my search for who I am, as well as trying to find meaning in the life God has for us. I also like to think that I am seeking out other people as well, so it covers both the search for myself and for those whose path I'm meant to cross.

I've used many variations before--HeartNSeoul, SeoulOfaWoman, Dragon'sSeoul, etc., but this one just seems to stick (and is easier to type :).) I had thought of using SeoulMate on the dating sites but... ugh... Not very "me"-ish... way too cliche. "SeoulSearch" is very much "me" and I do use it quite often--just like some of my gaming friends use their nicks as an alternative to just about everything except legal documents!

On the downside, I've often been asked, "Did you know you spelled 'soul' wrong?" Nope, it's not spelled wrong... just depends on your point of view. :)

Well, if it makes you feel any better, I recognized the spelling right away and thought it was very clever! :)

Hooray! I always love people who don't automatically think I'm a moron (well, maybe on more days than I care to admit, but hopefully not the day I registered my nickname.) Thanks! :) And I liked the story behind your name in regards to the fact that you used to egg on the mods, but have had a change of heart. :)

Not that I would encourage anyone to do it, but... back when posting any URL in chat was strictly forbidden, I enjoyed posting the url of the rules. This was particularly effective when someone else would post a url and get chastised for it.

Also, back when speaking any language other than english was against the rules, i would talk backwards all the time. taht htiw laed ot dah legnawons rooP

Now days, I'm probably just as much of a troublemaker, the rules just got more relaxed. :p
