Jm 3:1
My brethren, be not many masters (didaskalos), knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation (krima - judgment - that also includes rewards of commendation).
1Tim 3:1,6
1 This is a true saying, if a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.
6 Not a novice (new and unproven), lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.
1Tim 1:5-7
5 Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience (conscience full of the grace and righteousness of God), and of faith unfeigned (without hypocrisy):
6 From which some having swerved (deviate and miss the mark) have turned aside unto vain jangling (empty talk);
7 Desiring to be teachers of the law (nomodidaskalos); understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm (strongly assert).
Some want so much to be teachers and have a spirit of resentment with those that have an understanding of the scriptures that they are miles away from. The reason for this is because they have never done what (1Pt 5:5,6, Jm 4:5-11) talk about when it refers to putting yourself under the mighty hand of God (Ps 68:18, Eph 4:8-16). I don't know what some think this means but it is referring to those that God has hand picked to be pastor-teachers, given to the church as a gift, and to be over others in the Lord (1Thes 5:12,13, Heb 13:17). They are not self appointed but chosen of God and equipped for that calling. But these who want to be teachers do not humble themselves and put themselves under a man of God raised up for the purpose of preaching and teaching the word and to feed the flock as an overseer (episkipos) Acts 20:28.
