I can tell you about His love and how He has been faith and true in my life because we are all to be living epistles of Christ to the world.

2 Corinthians 3:3
Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.

carolineh, I've been a student of the Bible for most of my life. Other than that, the only things I can tell you would come from the volumes of personal testimony I could write on How my life has confirmed everything the Bible has to say about God. He is real. His love is real. His power and faithfulness are real. His provision is real. Where did I learn this? Life!

And I'd be happy to go anytime you would like.

Anything above or beyond the bible would be suspect and how could one rely on it as added revelation?
The bible is sufficient and trustworthy.

Our Heart and Spirit lift those words off the page to magnify how Wonderful, Almighty, Loving and True our Heavenly Father is.

Yet even then we have only a taste... for he is Great and we are small but we are filled so much to know it over fills us over and over....... we then look around and are more overwhelmed in admiration.

It's all in the Bible. The Bible is like condensed soup, very rich. Additional study is useful and valid in confirming the Bible and deepening our faith and expanding our walk -- spice for the recipe.

Some study History, Archeology, Hermeneutics and Linguistics, Theology, The Tree of Life, the System of The Way ... But these all confirm the simple truths that are in the New Testament and for some, lead them astray into intellectualism, haughtiness or a temptation to use this knowledge for power, control or gain. It has to start with the Bible read all the way through, and having read once, to go back and re-read with a now broader sense of the scriptures. It always comes back to the Bible as the root of all nourishment. Knowing, accepting and following the precepts of right living and the warnings against behaviors that can lead to suffering is all the simple faith one needs to start. How many have read the Bible once, how many twice? How many claim a preacher, a building, a life verse and a fave song instead?

The Sermon on the Mount gives a hint at the steps in climbing the mountain - from humility as a first step, to suffering for righteousness sake, to the call to be salt and light, keeping the commandments, clarifications in 'you have heard it said, but I say ...' ... to a call --- Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. Heady stuff Matthew 5

you can only know that your personal testimony and experience of God's love and forgiveness of your sins is real if it matches God's word...you cannot say God loves and forgives you if you are living a lifestyle of sin because God's word tells us that His anger remains upon you and you will be punished with everlasting punishment if you fail to turn from your sins and fail to hate your sins....be very careful how you apply God's word to your life and your personal experiences so that you are not stepping outside of His Word and doing your own thing and making your own god..the real God is the one who has given us all truth and nothing can be added to that or taken away from that..What He tells us about Himself and our relationship to Him in the bible is all we need to know about the subject and to add to that or take away from that is a very serious sin

Isn't it written that in the last days what Daniel sealed up would then be revealed. Was the Apostle John not likewise told to seal up things, that would be revealed in the last days. If what they have sealed up, can already be found in the Scriptures, why would there be a need to seal them up until the last days? What they have sealed is indeed new revelation, that will be revealed to prophets in the last days.

10 And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand. 11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.
12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

This Caroline do you know this about GOD?..... How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.
If you do not, ASK GOD TO SHOW YOU!

Why are you so concerned with getting everything right? Do you not know that God loves you even when you get it wrong? That NONE of us is without sin. God loves us all and does not want any of us to perish. He wants us to choose Him. He wants to be a part of our lives. He knows the condition of our hearts and will meet us where ever we are at. Since the law is written on our hearts, why are you pushing legalism? Even Paul said when I am with the Jews I am like a Jew. The bible is God's manual to us, but He is not dead. He is alive and active in our lives. You can learn a lot by learning to trust Him. That act in and of itself is an action that is separate from the word. Growing in wisdom comes from experiencing God. You go where God is at work and allow Him to use you. You can learn a lot from people's experiences with God.

Would you be accusing Jesus of legalism too when His very first sermon and that means the most important one was simply REPENT..it is upon the foundation of repentance..that is turning to God in love through Jesus and turning from your sins that a reconciliation and relationship with God is established

Truth is what is know. Those words are not exactly in the Bible that exact way. Jesus is the Truth, Jesus is the Word, Jesus is known, and knows all things.

If you're asking what the Word of God is, then it's a bit more complicated, cause Jesus is the Word of God, but the following is also words of Truth.

I am breathing (this is not written in the Bible, but it's the Word of God, because it is known to be words of Truth).

The details on how the government of the Kingdom of Heaven in earth as it is in Heaven are also in the Bible, but the following true words are not in the Bible (which is like a mustard seed of the Word of God).

If the Everlasting High Priesthood tithes to the Everlasting High Priesthood, it is confusion. These words are not in the Bible exactly how I wrote them, but the message is Truth, and the Word of God.

the question was what more can you tell me about God that is not already written in the bible..as in what is something new that has not been revealed..the fact that you are breathing is not an additional truth to what is in the bible and the bible is all truth..how do you know that Jesus is the Word of God..probably because it tells us that He is in the bible so that is not additional information that is not already in the bible..you had better be careful about how you convey the word of God and make sure it is verbatim or you may be judged on misrepresenting God and His word

Look at his creation and ponder it. It's God's book of creation!
Romans 8:20, "For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,"

Other then that, I don't think we can tell you more about God that is not already in the bible.

We have been in the last days since Jesus ascended into Heaven and what is revealed to us in the Last Days is that Jesus is God..only the Holy Spirit can unseal our blinded eyes for us to see that truth...the Holy Spirit is God's seal that shows whether or not we belong to God

nice and simple and clear.
God spoke and moved and recorded our scriptures IN ORDER TO BE UNDERSTOOD.

Really? It's a tragedy that people don't know how to interpret Daniel. I give you one clue, the anti-christ of Daniel was Antiochus IV Epiphanes (a.k.a Emimanes --meaning "the deluded madman") who rose up during the Grecian empire. This after Alexander the Great died and his kingdom was divided into 4 regions led by Alexander's former army generals. These 4 generals often warred against each other...After a bit Antiochus IV Epiphanes (Epiphanes means "God manifest" is which he named himself become into power. Then Anitiochus warred against the King of the south and the Jews and persecuted them for 7 years, during this time he also set up the Greek god Zeus in the temple of God, desecrating the temple of God, and also slaughter a pig and spread it's blood on the alter. Many Jews at this time became what we call Hellenizing Jews, those who gave into Antiochus and worshiped him and his Greek gods in which they gave their allegiance to. This is Daniel 11 in a nut-shell.

If any serious learners want to know "what, how and when" about the book of Daniel then I would suggest Jay E Adams, he as a whole serious on the book at http://www.sermonaudio.com..

Error begets ERRORS.

I cannot disagree that the understanding of the teachings was veiled or hidden for a very long time to many of the people ... usually this was because the people had hardened their hearts ...

Moses had a veil over his face when he spoke to the people ... Jeremiah tossed his writings out (for a time) ... Daniel foretells a coming messiah on a timeline, Isaiah said that they have ears and do not hear, and eyes and do not see ... Jesus reiterates this, in teaching in parables ... Paul speaks of the veil of Moses, still over the people when they hear the scriptures during his time ... part way through Revelation we do see an attempt to seal [again] the writing ... finally in chapter 22 as Zone highlighted above it is written ...

Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand. (Rev 22:10)
