Hey, Just an interesting question, don't know if this has been asked before:

What do you guys say/ think of playing video games?

For instance,

Assassin's Creed series...
Call Of Duty series...

What do you guys say?
Does anyone play any of these?

Indubitably

No video games. I always wonder where people get all the hours they use to play? I'd rather invest those hours in people; loving, caring and sharing our blessings from the Lord. I'm not so heavenly minded that I'm no earthly good. I just love the sweetness and rewards that I experience spending time with fellow believers.

^^ What the man said...
Video Games are very addicting, they are evil in a way. You should stay away from them.

Anything can be addictive if youre weak minded most people im sure over the age of 18 just play video games because theyre bored not because they really enjoy it.

We have 3 Xbox 360s, a PS3, a PS2, a SNES, and then all my roommates and myself have laptops. The amount of time we spend playing video games per day? Well mine is roughly 2 hours and so is everyone elses except for one guy who doesnt do much with his life(no job, parents pay his rent still). Video Games are about as evil as you make them. Which in the majority of cases is...not that much

So it depends on you being weak minded or not if something's addictive? Cool, I have very strong mind, maybe I should give heroin a try. But seriously, video games are MADE to be addicting, especially games like WoW.

I don't think video games are evil, you can get an addiction to any other thing you like not just video games i think is a matter of getting priority on the right place that's my humble opinion

God above everything else, if you do that he will give you wisdom to decide how much time you spend on videogames or anything else
last 1 was incomplete lol

LOL yeah man compare heroin to video games uh huh the two addictions are clearly on different levels. Also weak minded doesn't just mean fighting the addiction but also not giving into peer pressure to try gateway drugs or heroin.

I actually laughed at the comparison. It's like comparing the risk of driving on the highway to purposefully slamming your car into a concrete pylon.

My weakness is Sci-fi with deep meaning and a well-told story. That and strategy.

The real sin is in the time played that you could be devoting to something else, but then if you are going to do something purely recreational and want to be immersed in something, you're really no worse off seeing a movie. There is potential for addiction in anything.

There is no convincing me that video games make the average person more aggressive. All the evidence is purely anecdotal, and the reputable studies that have been done concluded as much.

I think you underestimate how many people are addicted to videogames.

For me video games are a nice way to let my mind wander. I play about 30-45 minutes a day. It gives my mind a break from the stress of what I see at work and the knots my mind forms reading all my Calvinist theology :)

Hey everyone Thread starter here!

I was just playing assassins creed 2, and it seemed a little anit-christian to me , I did some research...

DO SOME RESEARCH ON THIS GAME (Google assassins creed ending and go to youtube)

From what I found, anyone who played this game loved it for that reason: That it takes stabs at Christianity 0_0

I looked up the ending and some other things about it, and the Roman goddess Minerva or something like that is talking to Desmond and there's something about being her prophet, and so on...

Needless to say I've already deleted the game and do not plan on playing any further.

Some of you are right when you say the devil seems to have control over these things, and that they are evil.
Might sound stupid, but it frighteningly true. The devil after all is the greatest deciever, so he can make anything look harmless...
I think I'm done gaming for the rest of my life... Scary...

Sorry my last post was kind of off topic from where you guys were going, but I thought I'd mention one of the games from the first post...

I dont know if i agree with your actions taken about the plot of AC2 because youre missing out on 3 which is amazing. I never let fictional stores like the ones in video games really affect me though
