The older I get, and the more I learn, the less I know. As soon as I think I have figured out the answer the question changes.
“I was so much older then, I’m younger than that now.”

IIMO...there are really only two: People do not KNOW the Lord on a personal level;
People do not know why THEY are IN HIM.

All else falls under the above.

I especially like your first answer. I think there are Christians who aren’t trying, or aren't trying very hard, to get to know the Lord personally.

I felt guilty about saying that young adults “seem to know EVERYTHING” because I know there are young adults like yourself who have been very kind.
You're my uncle now. Sorry.

Oop...#44 should read "they don't know WHO they are IN HIM".

Maggie

yeah....'why' is a no-brainer, right?

Really? I find that very sad indeed!!

YOU are a child of the Most High God! YOU are a bought and paid for citizen of the Kingdom of Heaven ...AND...with that comes the authority and power of Christ who is within you! Of course...knowing that and LIVING it are two different things. Authority is gained through obedience. There is little, if any, power, without authority. Most who call themselves Christians do not understand that being Born Again (John 3:3-21) affords them the most basic of spiritual authority and so they do not use that authority...which leaves them powerless.

The only power that any believer has is the testimony of the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the fruit of the Spirit that is produced in their life as they grow in that grace and knowledge of the One who gives it. The tongue is the greatest power on earth and has the ability to destroy and to build up. It has the power to take a sinner and give them the words of reconciliation that they might be reconciled to God in a moment of time. The tongue under the power of the Holy Spirit with grace and truth can convert the sinner from the error of their way, save a soul from death, cover a multitude of sins, it can give a word in season to them who are weary setting the captive free and giving liberty to them who are bruised. The power we have with this testimony can shine so bright and cause men to glorify the Father in heaven. The most powerful words that can be communicated to a lost soul is...'Christ died and put away all your sin'. There is no greater words of power and faith that can be heard by the human ear of man that reveals the power of God's great salvation.

Hebrews 4

Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. 2For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
3For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

4For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. 5And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest. 6Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:

7Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.

8For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. 9There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. 10For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. 11Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. 12For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 13Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

14Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. 15For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. 16Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
Feed on His word line upon on line my friends.

The unction we have from God is in the local assembly where believers gather and have unity and oneness in the things of God. It is the place where God commands a blessing and life forevermore all they way down to the hem and foot of the garment. In the local assembly we have the pastor-teacher given by God to bring and edify that body of believers into the unity of the faith and Spirit to be like-minded in the things of God, that they might be perfectly joined together in the same mind. The anointing or unction that comes down from God onto the head of Christ and runs down unto that local body of believers is through the preaching and teaching of the word and doctrine and through the Spirit that fills each believer who submits and gives heed by faith to the word that is preached. This anointing and unction that comes from the head, CHRIST, through the word and the Spirit is what breaks the yoke and also imparts a new and easy yoke for that body of believers assembled together.

The purpose and revelation of God's anointing is to bring unity so that God can operate in that body of believers as one Lord, having one faith through one Spirit and having love one of another. This is what Jesus did with His disciples when He was here. He gathered them unto Himself to give to them what He received from the Father that they might be one as He was one with the Father. This was going to determine the ministry they would receive from on high at Pentecost through the Spirit. Jesus was anointed to preach the gospel and they were going to be endued from on high with the Spirit to preach the gospel and be witnesses unto Christ in all the world.

They were going to be sent out and go with the promise that Christ would go with them. This anointing of Christ's presence with them and in the midst of them would bring the power of salvation into the midst of every place the soul of their foot would touch. Their feet would be shod with the preparation of the gospel. If they were received they were to remain but if rejected they were to dust off their feet and go to the next place. There feet were always prepared with an anointing that started from the head and worked it's way down to the feet, where we walk and have our steps ordered by the Lord. Jesus did always those things that pleased the Father and every step He took came from hearing from the Father. When Jesus was lead by the Spirit through the Father, this is what happened...

Lk 4:16-22
16 And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.
17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,
18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
20 And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.
21 And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.
22 And all bare him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. And they said, Is not this Joseph's son?

This can only happen in the local assembly where Christ is the head and it is His anointing that goes down over and covers the body all the way down to the feet and in this place God commands a blessing. Where ever the feet go God commands a blessing through the unity with the head. The feet are nothing less then what the head says for the feet to do for what could the head do without the feet? The head needs the feet to be able to walk and serve and those feet need to be prepared to go where the head says to go and when the feet go they have the same anointing of the head. It is not a special anointing, it's just the same one that the head has because of the unity of the Spirit.

This is when things really begin to happen according to (Is 61) as it related to the church and body of Christ on this earth. The unction that the body has knows all things that comes from the head and they are not mistaken about anything that comes from the head. They have no division or strife about it because they are of the same mind with their head. They are not double-minded about the things of God and whatever they ask for they receive for they are one with the head. Christ is the head of the body and that body is one in its local expression of the life and testimony of Christ through the Spirit. They function as one body, through one head, having one faith, one Spirit and one hope of their calling and that hope is to see Christ ministered in all places for the glory of God.

I believe what God says about the people in the end times.....
1. They are mislead by MANY FALSE teachers that is soft on their sinning ears. Not wanting the TRUTH... 2 Tim 4:3....
2. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
3. Most did not endure to the end! And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved. They loved the World's love more than the Love of Jesus!

Most of you don't know this as doctrine because you never have been taught it and have never seen it in action in the body of Christ at the local level.

We have the authority to do the Lord’s will.
To be precise, we have the responsibility to use Christ's authority to enforce His will in the world. And yes there is too little understanding on this.
