1) I look like Milton from the Walking Dead.
2) I was nearly convinced by my co-workers that I should be Daryl Dixon for Halloween last year because they felt that role fit me, but chickened out because at that time I had not seen a single episode and was unsure of what I was possibly agreeing to.
3) I'm not comfortable riding public transportation (buses, subways, et cetera).
2 is true. I almost even built a prop crossbow so that I could have the whole look without toting around a weapon in this 9/12 society. now that I've watched the show, I find that having the two ladies I work in the geographic proximity of tell me that I should be Daryl seems to be their form of a compliment that pertained nothing to my appearance. I asked, this was confirmed.

1 is also true... sometimes. Sometimes enough that it is true.

I love public transportation. I grew up traveling. I don't remember my first flight, just my first trans-Atlantic. Getting out in the masses of humanity is a great way to soak up the local culture. I'm street savy enough to be comfortable in the worst of neighborhoods or the roughest routes. Watch your wallet, check the timetables and GO! There is so much to learn while traveling like the local common folk do on their buses, El's, Tubes, Metros, Light rails, and whatevers. Know when to bail out and hail a cab, and when the point of no return is about to be crossed and that's the last chance to opt out for a taxi. know what to do once that line is crossed. But Go. Sure, you may Really Need to wash your hands before your next meal, but that is something to teach the kids to do, too. You'll only regret it if you do it wrong. 2 yrs ago I took the kids to Chicago. One thing I insisted on while there was taking my kids (then 5 and 7) on the city bus. They loved it. 3 is false.

1) I've swam on both sides of the North Sea, though not across it.
2) I stopped with my date and I got a cartilage piercing on my way to prom dinner when I was a high school junior.
3) I won an expense paid trip to Indianan in a competition for college engineering majors when I was in seventh grade, but was denied the opportunity to compete at the national level because I was not in college.
1) yup. It was cold, I turned blue and had to be told to get out of the water.
2) nope, but almost. It was my senior prom. the only other year I went to prom was as a sophomore.
3) The Univ. of Texas Engineering Dept. had egg on their face over this. :D

Here's another round on me.

1) My great great grandfather was a sharecropper.
2) My grandfather was solicited to take part in the Manhattan Project.
3) I started and ended college at the respective ends of the Trail of Tears.

go ahead, take a stab at it... unless you're Zaoman's Ex or your significant other is being arrested by Jullianna

Three More:

1) I have been trained to fire guns by a navy sniper.

2) I watched the execution of Saddam Hussein.

3) I was once arrested at NAS Fallon because I told a MP officer that I was taking pictures of the base for China.

Number 1 is true. I was trained to fire guns by a navy sniper. I also like first person shooter video games. :D

Number 2 is also true. It was the first time I've ever watched someone die.

Number 3 is false. I wasn't arrested; however, I did have to explain to a VERY angry MP why I was taking pictures of the base. I looked him straight in the eye and opened my stupid smart mouth and said, "Oh, they're for China!". I laughed and he did not. I dropped my gaze and stood there as he yelled other questions at me.

Awe-some! And same here. What's your favorite transit system, or the best you've ridden so far?

Now, if you'd said the pics were for North Korea, you'd be posting from the brig to this day. :D

1. I had the opportunity to meet and talk one-on-one with Christian philosopher Ravi Zacharias for twenty minutes.

2. I was once prayed for by John Piper while he was a guest preacher at my church here in Toronto.

3. I got to meet and have my picture taken with Christian singer Rebecca St. James.
1. True - Ravi Zacharias was at a book signing at a Christian bookstore (R.G. Mitchell's) here in Toronto, and while I was there I purposely waited to be last in line. That gave me the opportunity to talk with Ravi by myself for as long as I wanted (it was awesome!!!).

2. False - John Piper has not preached at my church yet (I guess he hasn't received my hand-written request yet).

3. True - I got to meet Rebecca St. James at the People's Church here in Toronto. The proof is below, don't we look great together? I should have proposed to her that night (maybe next time!!!).

Best? Washington DC's Subways - on time and clean.
Fave? London Underground... talk about tunnels with History! I like the Gaimain's "Neverwhere" all the more for the experiences there that sometimes still fuel my imagination.
Greyhound has some appeal for me as well, but not something I am rushing to share with the kids yet. I introduced them to Amtrak @ Thanksgiving, though.

Duuuuuude! Your ex wife stabbed you?! And why a poker tourney?
A Poker tourney because I love to play poker.

The reason I said my ex-wife gave me a knife wound is exactly for that reaction right there. Actually what happened was when we had first gotten married she thought it was fun to play with a bread knife and pretend to "slice me up" by using the dull side of the blade on me, until she accidently used the sharp end and left a scar in its wake.

1.I've pushed 2 tons of hay off a trailer to save one of my friends from being squashed and killed.
2. I've run 6 miles straight, while I was looking for a friend but couldn't find him anywhere.
3. When I was 16, I was told I was infertile, and yet I am married and pregnant.

Is THAT you?! You look nothing like what I imagined you would. It is funny how we put pictures to names, even if we have no idea what they look like.

And I'm still waiting for libertygirl to confirm that she shook Sandra Bullock's hand because I'm one of her biggest fans. :)
This one is false. I did see her, but I was too afraid to approach her. We were the only two in a furniture store, and the employees were serious and quiet. When she left, they started talking about her and asked another employee which car they saw her leave in. :)

Okay, Libertygirl, I'm calling number 2 false.
This is true! She did an in-store signing at Tower Records for her Rainbow album release. That's where I saw her. :)

1. False- it was 3 tons (6,000 lbs.) and it was because of an adrenaline rush, I was dead tired and cold after that. It sapped my energy.
2. True- I found my friend eventually, after almost running a 1 mile stretch of road 7 times, but I only got to 6, and a little bit over.
3. True- When I was 16, I was devastated after being told I was infertile. When I found out I was pregnant with my husbands and my first baby, I was ecstatic. Four doctors now, have told me that my baby is a miracle.

I knew you couldn't have been bit by a penguin! They such loveable creatures. At least I hope so... they're my favorite.
I like penguin too. Mix it up in the food processor with a little green pepper, and a lot of onion...add mayo. Serve on good rye bread. Scrumptious!
