Wishing you were dead and thinking of actually donig something are two different things. Because he knew his GOD, it is highly unlikely that he evern contemplated such an act.
When he says that it would have been better for him to have been 'untimely ripiped' from his mother's womb, that is to say that, having been conceived, it would have been an easier existance to have ended his physical life before exiting the womb, and continue his existance in the spiritual realm, waiting on the promise of the Savior.

i dunno...knowing God while being opressed can still cause a person to contemplate this awful act..i felt at one point God had forsaken me..many would probably say i wasnt a christian but yes i did consider it at that time..what stopped me? fear of judgement and my son. * just being honest here*

ok i feel i should really post to this cause last week a girl i knew commited suicide she was only 16 but she was a christian and a strong one at that she brought at least ten ppl to the Lord in her short life n she did everything for God he was always first , she was the head of the christian union at the school which takes a lot of guts with ppl constantly bashing u for being a christian but she did it n they never got her down , just i basically believe the devil got into her mind n ruined it because he was losing many of the ppl that where meant to b in hell with him n she stopped that so he had to break her down

CHarlotte: You say this girl was a "strong" Christian. What, in your opinion, qualifies her as a strong Christian?
Thanks,
Maggie

I wouldn't be so quick to blame things on spirits, the world and the flesh are just as strong in leading people down the wrong path. Will pray for you though CMW.

It's typical practice to name an evil spirit by the type of affliction it produces. eg spirit of cancer, spirit of epilepsy, spirit of depression, spirit of suicide, spirit of pain. Is there actually a type of demon called a spirit of suicide, well, not really, it's just a demon which has managed to influence that person by suicidal thoughts. And it might specialise in that area. Yet, that same demon may the next day cause another person to have an epileptic fit. Then it becomes a spirit of epilepsy.

Remember that physical things eg chemical imbalances may not be a cause but may be a symptom of the real cause ( a demon).

I'm wondering, though, that if she was such a strong Christian, knowing the word of God, how did she ever get to the point of suicide? She was created to be an overcomer, but instead was overcome. Very sad and unnecessary.

Greetings,

I believe there are two types of suicide; one type is a decision made entirely by oneself to end your own life, at the time of the decision you are both rational and of sound mind and have contemplated and understand the consequences, the other type of suicide the individual is not rational and unable to reason his/her way out of a very powerful and overcoming desire to extinguish his/her own life, I believe in this second case there is another alien force involved, a demonic entity, the individual may try to fight against this, the demonic force may use various means to get the individual to suicide, the individual will try desperately to overcome the desire to suicide, success or failure is dependent on alot of factors. In the second case the human individual is definitely under spiritual attack.

You don't know that they wouldn't have. So do you think it helps the testimony of her witness to them by killing herself?

lol I'm a missionary so I won't answer that question about leading people to Christ... I know where you're coming from, but you need to look outside of that box. There is no such things as a good Christian, we're all sinners. One may look good in mans eyes, but that's mans eyes. Do you think God sees a disobedient Christian as good? Think about it. You can use her error to minister to others. But you have to see it for what it was, an error, outside of God's will.
