Hi Heaven lovers,
Every believer has two sides of himself. His inner spiritual self and his outer self we call flesh. Was just pondering the question : is God's family more important than our own flesh and blood ? Personally speaking, I see that there are many people who give more preference to the church people more than their own families. True, that, God is more important than parents, and spirit is considered more valuable than the flesh. Lets just say, a believer has unbeliever parents who traumatises him, but he gets his spiritual guidance and strong support from people at church. His natural affection clings him to the church members. However, Which do you think should be considered more important to such a person.. Unbeliever parents or Godly church members? If you say unbeliever parents, should this person force his feelings to love them? Your thoughts please...

See Mark 10:29-30. Now notice, this is not about "Godly church members", but about Jesus.

The family in Christ, Yeshua, is the family. Our birth families may or may not be included in the true family. I always pray all my family is in Jesus, Yeshua. You are my family if you believe and follow the Messiah, and I am proud to believe I am your family, proud of God. God bless all in Jesus Christ, Yeshua, amen.

We can choose our friends, not our family. Sometimes this really rings true. But we do choose to be in the Family of Jesus. And I pray my family is too and we can spend all eternity with Jesus in Heaven.

I think its more important to pray for family members who mistreat us. other than that I don't think one should be more important than the other. For God asks us to be impartial and loving to ALL. ..................James 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.

It seems if a father or mother is taking care of true affairs of the assembly, by nature of doing so he would also take exceptionally good care of his or her family. If this does not occur by the nature of the faith given, perhaps something is amiss?[QUOTE=rinu;967978]i think both is important . wt would happen is a father is taking care of all church activities and dont even care for his kids ????[/QUOTE]

Namaste Rinu, I did understand what you had said. Please forgive my not having reflected that in my post. That kind of church following should not be, not unless someone is called by God as an apostle. I say apostle in the sense of the meaning "sent out." Of course church should never be devisive to any family. God bless you and hold you close forever, amen...[QUOTE=rinu;967992]i hv just seem some families, in which dad spends everything on church or ministry , and their kids and wives struggling without money and soo on .. thats wt made me confuse on it now :)[/QUOTE]

Hi my friend Rinu,
True. In fact my dad is like that. And over that, he is mentally abusive to me by his nature but loves to show himself off doing church activities. He cares more of people's needs than his own kids. The church pastor seems comfortable with it. I left my father's house mainly because of that. Then later I went to comfront the same pastor of his church he says it is ok to tolerate mental abuse. I suspect maybe cause he thinks my dad is a holy saint. Sorry to talk about my own father like that, but, keeping aside feelings, just facting! We had to borrow money from my mom's bro's and sis's due to this since my job ..etc were in turmoil (long story).
Thanks for the post.
Jesus Bless,
Ruby.

We did not choose our family of this age, but there is a reason why they are given. It may take an entire life time to learn why, if ever. Until then, we have our Heavenly Father and our eternal family in Christ, once we have named the Name. Be blessed always and comforted in Jesus, Yeshua. This is His desire for us.

Hi Rinu,
Just as you said, yes, he gives us strength like electricity. When I read verses, when I hear friends like you saying sumthing, it electrifies me a lot. Yeah ...I myself now understand ppl who are in my shoes (though they may have different circumstances).
Kudos to Jaumie as well.

Mark 3:31-35 (KJV)
31[There came then his brethren and his mother, and, standing without, sent unto him, calling him.] 32[And the multitude sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee.] 33[And he answered them, saying, ] Who is my mother, or my brethren? 34[And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, ] Behold my mother and my brethren! 35For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.

Hey DaShadow,
Thanks for posting. Hmmm.. Yes, true, Jesus said that . So, what is your opinion after putting this verse..that God's family is more important than immediate family?

Hi, Hmmmm.. Thnx for d post. Well, yes we have to love God first. But what about God's people we know? Should they be more important than immediate family? Lets reason out with an example. If one's immediate family member were in trouble as well as your Godly friend were in trouble the same time, who would you attend to first? Your thoughts

This teaching from the Master, and thanks to Dashadow, says it all to my satisfaction...God bless all the family in Jesus Christ, and I pray my family by human birth be in Jesus Christ also, amen.

Both. I would contact others and see if they could help one or the other and the one I could not find another to help I would go to and help myself and entrust that God will keep the other one safe while I am helping.

I would use the logic of who is in the most danger of dying to determine who I would help first. it would not matter to me if they are immediate family or part of my spiritual family.

though I tend to be able to help those who live closer to me easier than those who live far away.
