In God's eyes, they are equal. In a marriage, it is an individual negotiation. In Christ, there is neither male nor female.

righton Ken :) you did leave out that in genetics there is also an issue called co-dominance.

Genetically, it's based more on which gene is dominant, regardless of whether that gene came from the male or female. The only gene I can think of that's gender based is that the female determines the sex of the baby.

I don't know if that's what you meant. I'm kind of confused what you mean in the first place...

Do I rememer it right: A marries B, you get 1/4A, 1/4B and 1/2 mixed? That makes it very equal. Codominant is 50-50 on anything it happens to, if I recall it right.

For a combination of genetic and historical reasons men acquired dominance in most human societies.
Does it matter? NO! we are all equal in God's eyes! There is no race when your blessed with God's grace. Even the faith that God gives each person is equal. How we nurture and use our faith throughout our journey in life is a whole different matter.

The little 6-year-old girl in me wants to do a raspberries face and say "girls rule! boys drool!"

lol, jk.

In a balanced world and society, neither is dominant because one gender can't exist without the other. Each gender are strong in their own ways. Life isn't a competition. Dominance is only a word to satisfy the ego.

I find this really odd. Of course men are more dominant. I'm really puzzled that there is any dicussion about this. Also, I think it is the male sperm that determines the sex of the baby.

for like races, i dont think it matters. i suppose it just depends on the people and their genes.

but when a you are speaking of black / "any other race" relationship, the black gene is always the more dominant gene. my daughter is mixed. her mother is black, and she is her twin, just caramel complected.

That wouldn't be a gene, but an entire chromosome, and it is going to be decided by the father's gamete. This is because the mother's gametes are all X chromosomes but a father's gametes can be X or Y. If the baby is an X-Y then it's a boy, if it's X-X then it's a girl.

As far as I remember, and I haven't studied this in awhile, it isn't a simple dominant and recessive gene interaction going on with skin color.

... yes, but weren't we referring to the genes that determined skin color.

we are talking about genes in general. even skin color. any race mixed with black, the black gene will always dominate. you will never see a half irish, half black kid look more irish than black.. unless the mixed kid comes out with red hair and white skin, even then, you will look at him and see that he is black, more so.

I've known someone who are part Irish and part west African (not sure exactly which region). Her skin color was a pretty light brown color and had straight curly dark red hair. I don't see how I would or should consider this person black when their skin is so light, I would consider them of African descent but the label of "black" is usually determined by skin color.
