Add just a pinch of Vitamin C powder to the water you sip all day. It turns your body into a germ fighting machine!

A prominent doctor wrote that vitamin C is used by our body to fight infections, among other wonderful things it does. He says that when we take the pills our body uses just a tiny bit of the vitamin for a short time, the rest has to be handled by our kidneys that can be overloaded, anyway. We do not store the vitamin at all, in a short time we could use it again.

I am prone to bladder infections. The germs cannot grow when the body has the acid of the C vitamin, besides. This takes care of it in no time.

Be careful though. There can be a buildup that will make you very sick.

And careful if you have Irish/otherwise Celtic descent. This can exacerbate hemochromatosis, since it accelerates the rate at which your body absorbs iron.

My husband's mom suffered from hemochromatosis, and was the daughter of Hungarian immigrant parents. Not to be argumentative, but just sayin'-you don't have to be Irish to have this disease. There may have been some Irish in her heritage, but none that she knew of--she was pretty proud of her Magyar ancestors. :)

Cheers!

I am bewildered. I am told our bodies get rid of extra C, it is a vitamin that doesn't build up in our system like, for instance, A does. You say it must be handled carefully or it builds up? This build up of C is new to me. I wonder if Linus Pauling who did so much research of this vitamin knew these things.

Indeed, that was my thought, too. "C" is one of the water soluble vitamins, which ends up (to be frank) in the toilet if you take too much. Unlike A and E, fat soluble (stored in body fat), which will become toxic at some point.
Thanks for pointing that out, ma'am!
