I should have posted this before Christmas, but I hope someone saves this and makes it next year.
It's a popular drink for Christkindlmarkets across Germany, German speaking countries, and parts of the US with a large German population

ingredients

1 bottle of cabernet sauvignon (the brand doesn't matter)
2 or3 oranges (depending on how much flavor you want
a bag of cloves
2 or 3 cinnamon sticks
honey

Pour the bottle of wine into a regular pot, place on low heat
Cut the oranges into halfs and stuff 5 cloves into each orange
Place the oranges and cinnamon sticks into the wine and let heat up for 45-60 minutes
sweeten with honey
Enjoy a tasty German Christmas treat while it's still hot!

Heating up the oranges and cinnamon like that....probably makes for a wonderful smelling house.

I enjoy the "fuss" of cooking from scratch, especially when I have someone to cook for :)

I've never heard of German Glow Wine and that's a bit strange since my ancestors were of German/Polish origin (Prussian to be exact).

That's because in english it isn't called 'glow wine 'at all, as far as I know it. 'Glow wine' is the literal translation of the german 'glühwein.' The proper engelsh term is 'mulled wine.'

My German friend calls it glow wine because I guess he just calls it what it's called in Germany but in English. Plus, mulled wine sounds gross haha

Sounds gross... tastes gross... ;)

But yeah, that would make sense, here they call it 'bisschopswijn' (literally translated 'bishops'wine'), because people like to drink it around the feast of Saint Nicolas (december 5th).
