Hey. Who do you like as far as televangelists go? One I like isCreflo Dollar. I like how he makes his sermons are simple. Yes, he's Word Of Grace teacher, but, I like that. Anyway, who do you all like?

Okay. I respect those who said that they don't like them. Your choice. As it's others choice to like them. And before you ask it: I don't go to church. Not that I don't want to. I just can't find the right one here. So, I use Creflo Dollar as my pastor. I like him, and that's my choice. Matthew 7:1-2,"judge not lest ye be judged."

Televangelist? Pass the plate. Millionaires asking, begging, throwing a sales pitch to any and all for more $$$.

"Sow your seed of faith, and God will give you an abundant harvest. Sow $100 and the Lord will restore to you ten fold."

Creflo Dollar? Simple sermons. He's never preached from the Bible. He might read a verse and then spring board from it, but preach from the Bible, NEVER.

Simple sermons are safe. They don't convict or convince. They neither reprove nor rebuke nor correct.

Joel Osteen will tell you that all roads lead to heaven. Yep. Buddhism leads to heaven. Islam leads to heaven. Mormonism leads to heaven. If all roads lead to heaven, then that would include atheism.
He's a dingo.

These and many others are executives of multimillion dollar companies.

Well Danacovert, if you would follow your own interpretation of "judge not lest ye be judged" you would find a church.

I'm not judging anyone. The point I'm trying to make is that if you don't judge me for liking televangelists, then I won't judge you for liking for example only, rap music. You like what you like, and I like what I like. I didn't come here to diss anyone or anything. I guess I opened a can of worms. I'm trying to find a church. It takes time. I know I said Creflo was my pastor and he is until I find a good bible based church. But God is my pastor only. I'm gonna agree to disagree.

ps. I do not give money to the televangelists to get what I want in life. I let other people do that. Anyway...

Isn't that the same guy who asked for $65 million in donations so he could get his own private jet?

Yes, it supposedly is. You guys are making me look at televangelists differently. How? By not trusting most of them. Not saying all of them are bad. I don't know if I want to be part of Creflo Dollars ministry through the web. I may go to Rick Warren. He seems like he really wants us to be part of the family of God without giving money to pay for people's bills.

You do what you think is right. But I would see why many people wouldn't trust televangelists, which I have seen some and can see the tactics many use (note that I say many since I haven't or can't be bothered to look at each and every one of them.)

If you like to see motivational sermons given, I would say Nick Vujicic has a few good ones. Seeing his story is enough to make one shed a few tears.

Matthew 7:1-2,"judge not lest ye be judged."
Its the case of 1Thess 5v21 and not the above!

The image that these money grabbing gits give to the worlding portrays the opposite of Christ's beauitiful gracious, loving and generous character! Rom 5v8, 8v32, Eph 3v19, 2Peter 2v1-3, 1John 4v8,16

Creflo Dollar is a heretic.

Read the gospel he is preaching

******
We are not ashamed of the Gospel, which is the blessing that has been made available to us by the blood of Jesus (Romans 1:16, AMP).

We are blessed to be a blessing to others.

Poverty is a curse. It is designed to destroy us.

We can take authority over poverty by releasing our faith for victory over it.

What has been plaguing your life?

Take authority over it by speaking faith-filled words. Proclaim your right to be free from it through and by the blood of Jesus.
**********

Poverty is simply an economic reality of an inefficient system, corruption, exploitation and greed.
Until modern technology, efficient food growing and distribution, we were doomed to bouts of feast and famine.
Without modern medicine, shelter, clean water, people did not live very long and most died of simple illnesses.

The gospel is a gospel of love, and acceptance, that through walking after Jesus you can find life and freedom. The blessing is this emotional and spiritual blessing and nothing to do with money, greed and prosperity. It is the desire for an easy life that causes all the failure, the theft, corruption, over indulgence, and selfishness.

So rather than preaching the true gospel, these preachers are preaching the world, that if you worship the world you will be blessed with financial success and not cursed with poverty. Not only that, it is your right to command this wealth to come to you. This is a lie and an insult to Jesus and what he taught. Only the miss-guided would run after this heresy.

Rick Warren is, by many, considered to be promoting Chrislam... the uniting of Christians and Muslims.
He lives in South Orange County, CA (one of the most expensive areas in the country) where he has his megachurch.
His services are often interrupted by bringing up people to talk about their 'Celebrate Recovery' experiences. Basically he stops his preaching to promote his psychology classes for addicts.
I know of experiences where, despite members of his churches children bullying other attendees children (non-memebers) the church refused to even speak up on the matter because the victims of the bullying were not members of the church. So tough luck for them. Their members are ok'd to let their kids bully.

As I've said before, I think I'm done. I try to like one, and then get shot down for liking them. So, I'm through.
