Televangelists?? Seriously?? After all that has been printed and videoed and exposed about pretty much every one of them??

First, the Word Faith teachers are all heretics. If you can turn off your TV long enough, I would recommend you read the book

"Christianity in Crisis: 21st century" by Hank Hanegraaff.

While it isn't the best written book in world, because it is updated, and tends to repeat itself, he sure exposed the heretical doctrines of these televangelists, starting back with Kenneth Hagin, moving up to Joyce Meyers, Joel Osteen, and of course, Creflo Dollar!

Dollar does not believe in the deity of Christ, yet he says of us "Because you came from God you are gods - you are not just human." Show me that one in the Bible, in context. So Jesus is not god, but we are?? It doesn't get more twisted than that!

IMO, rather than waste another moment on these liars and heretics, you would be better off to read the Bible - that is where the truth lies, not in some preacher who lies out of the side of his mouth, while demanding money from others.

You are being led astray. No can of worms, just the simple and honest truth from someone who has studied the bible in the original languages and in English for 35 years.

Just reading bit more about Creflo Dollar.

Apparently, he tells his followers to say "I have equality with God." Funny, even Jesus ddn't say that, and he was equal with God.

Then there was predicting the rapture "around 2003-2004".That alone should be grounds for totally rejecting the rest of the man's message.

Another thing he said, "The Bible speaks more about money than about heaven."* What does Jesus say about that?

"Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." Matt 6:19-21

I'm away from Creflo guys. Not because of what you say about him. Because I'm feeling put off from him. I did see a video that basically saying that his church is like a subway, where they have turnstiles that you have to either put a card in a slot to let you in if you tithe. Or if you don't you're not let into heaven.

So, I'm into Joel Osteen. Yes, he teaches the so called "prosperity gospel" but I don't care. I like his positive approach. Yes, I'm sure he gets angry or whatever behind closed doors. But he doesn't show it. He gets emotional when he talks about his father AND mother. And I like that. And he DOES preach the gospel. I think it's one of you who commented about these guys being there for people in countries or elderly people who can't get to church. They can watch him live. So, that's a good thing.

Unless you spend more time in the Word yourself than listening to others, you will not recognize truth from error. Do you have trouble with doing your own reading?

I have learned more from just reading the bible over and over than from any person preaching. Read it slowly and prayerfully. The Holy Spirit will illuminate those scriptures that you personally need.

Even reading some devotionals like Andrew Murray and "My Utmost for His Highest" by Oswald Chambers are very good. Better than the televangelists. And you can linger over different thoughts when you are reading.

So, basically you guys are trying to get me to not like televangelists? Not all are as bad as people make them out to be. I read the bible. Well, listen to it. I try to everyday.

So you are saying you don't belong to a church and listen to a minister? And please provide proof that ALL tv preachers are heretics? That is a pretty bold claim.
