I was thinking about this today. I work for a private employer and part of the management team. The owner/boss carry and conceal because of the type of work that we do. I recently became certified and my boss "she" is all excited. She said I can carry if I like to the office. We work with a special clientele of mental health. I personally don't see anything wrong with carry and conceal. My decision to carry was base on the increase in violence from terrorist and against Christians globally. Also I live in one of the most dangerous cities in America. I also have taken CCW course and a couple of safety and situational classes. Which are always informative. We even have a few members of the large church that I attend that are carrying.

So how do you feel about it? I don't feel you need to carry in church if given permission. But the world sure is a unstable place.

I carry concealed sometimes.

Not for my protection but for others.

I think it is irresponsible to not carry nowadays. Too many angry people out there wanting to do violence to others for no apparent reason.

I've never liked it when the strong prey on the weak. One of my pet peeves...

Please please take some advanced weapons courses. Gunfights in real life are NOT like the ones on TV. I am all for gun rights but with those rights comes a greater responsibility. Be safe.

it's really become a 'two-way' street = hubby and I don't carry, and don't intend to do so,
unless our HEAVENLY FATHER gives us express instructions to do so...

for those who know Christ, we know that you understand where we are coming from...
'different strokes for different folks'...

I've never been into guns. But always believed in the right to own them. Lately, though, i have begun thinking about learning to shoot and getting a license to carry/conceal. As to whether i'll ever follow through with it is another story haha.

My Husband and I both want to get conceal carry licences. Just for safety purposes. He knows how to use a gun, I don't, so I'd need lessons.

Do those of you who carry ever feel tempted to pull it out when someone is being a jerk? Just kidding, sort of.

I have my CCP and often have it on me. I practice often and receive tactical training as well.

Carry and Conceal is perfectly ok with me concerning believers doing it. I do not see anything in Scripture saying different.

Well, on the positive side of things........should you follow through, you could shoot off a round and have another wee hole for your other eye to peer through. Could help with depth perception and such. :)

Nothing wrong with that. I believe it is a personal choice, and one that should be made responsibly and not be a knee jerk reaction to some event in our lives or reported on the News.

I think America is far too 'gun'-ho for their own good. But I'm not entirely against guns. If you're well-trained and mentally healthy and don't point that thing at me or my loved ones, I probably wouldn't have a problem with it.

I recently got my LTC (license to carry).... I have the option of carrying concealed, or open. I don't plan to ever open-carry. I might, if I was out hunting, and went to town for something, but other than that, I can't see it.

I carry concealed mostly when I'm off work. I am not allowed to have a gun at work, so I would have to leave it in the car. Since I ride the bike nearly every day, I don't want to leave it in the saddlebag, even locked... the lock is not much.

As to the question of wanting to pull it out when someone is being a jerk? Absolutely not. Anyone that thinks that way has no business carrying. It's not something to wave around, showing how "dangerous" you are, and if you do that, you will likely end up in jail, and lose your LTC for good. (which is what SHOULD happen) Or, the "jerk" might take you seriously and shoot you to death. Carrying is not a game... It's a serious responsibility, and should be treated accordingly.

I agree with you, I was just kidding about pulling it out on a jerk.

Now Tintin you are a reasonable guy ...do you understand why the American system was set up to keep the people armed against a oppressive government? Has there ever been a better system of government in the world? would there even be any democracies in the world today, if not for the American people first protecting their own freedom and then through the power of our government protecting and preserving other democracies? If not for America ..your country would have been part of Japan and your people enslaved only 70 years ago. The japs looked at the mainland of America and admitted they could never invade our country because the people was armed... they said they would be a rifle behind every blade of grass.

Well, someone sliced off a soldier's ear in the Garden of Gethsemane, so I'm thinking Jesus wasn't against carrying. I don't know if it was concealed, but I doubt it. (Hard to hide a sword, even a dagger. lol)

I won't carry, but for three very good reasons:
1. Loud! Loud unravels me.
2. Just not into them.
3. I can't killing no matter what. Hurt. I've got no problems hurting someone, but I can't kill.

I kept looking at your profile picture and thinking, boy he looks familiar, then I realized it's Ben Carson. He spoke at a Christian colleges graduation about an hour away from me recently. Some of the kid's weren't happy about that. Well to bad, it's a Christian college and Ben Carson is a great speaker, you should be honored.

See there? That explains your problem in Australia. Guns kill bunnies. Bunnies taste great. Even better than kangaroo tail soup. (Sorry. Only food I've eaten from Australia. lol) Free good meal, yet you think it's all about shooting people. Soylent Green does NOT taste good.
