Many threads are started from people who claim to know the date the world
will end, the date Jesus will return, the dates of the trumpets sounding, and various
other biblical dates.

It got me thinking, if you really knew the date Jesus would return without a shadow of a
doubt, what would you do with that information.

I think I would tell all my family and friends and turn into a female version
of John the Baptist, (repent for the kingdom of God is at hand etc), followed by buying the
biggest cheese cake I could find and the biggest bar of chocolate, then lock myself away
somewhere and pray. Sorry locusts and honey don't have quite the same attraction
for me.

Good question. I think one major problem with telling us the day of return would be the enemy would also then know which would upset everything in an insane kinda way.

Oh, if I knew I'd create some awesome threads on CC for sure...

I'd spend a few days in Nome, Alaska, eating bacon and hash browns, with a lot of fresh-squeezed orange juice. (I've always wanted to go to Nome.)

I would scoop up my daughters and my doggies go to the warmest mountain range I could find if it was cold in my area of course. I would camp out for a week before with the two people that matter most to me. No t.v. no phones. nothing but just the wind in our hair the camp fire with lots and lots of smores. Of course all the other camping type stuff too. Just praying and spend quality time with my girls.

I would also sit up there looking down and feel sorry for all who did not believe and who will be scrambling in the end.

I actually just made a sort of silly post about this subject

I think I get how accurate date setting works, from youtube and from other date setters I have gathered enough info to know how to be an accurate date setter. So I choose a popular topic that people either are very much looking forward to or will be willing to believe such as say idk the Rapture I choose a date that either has or might have biblical significance or something to do with the occult and the involvement of lucifer and somehow tie this to God and how he will use it I make the message of the date setting vague but not too vague only vague enough that it hints or implies something so that when it doesn't doesn't I can't be held responsible or I say the rapture will happen at a specific date and when it doesn't come to pass I can say in God's grace he delayed it or I can instead being direct and saying it will happen on this date I can say it may happen on this date so i won't be in complete embarrassment when I look dumb and it doesn't happen.

Thanks guys I think I finally know how to be the best date setter I can be you guys are great teachers(thumbs up)

authors notes- the sarcastic and ill mannered post above while having some truth in it is in no way meant to be mean or rude the author is just in a very strange silly mood any offense taken from the post will be met with a sincere apology.

However in a serious response If i knew the exact date and time of any of these things I wouldn't bother telling people as I would know no one would listen or believe me and I wouldn't bother going into hiding either for several reasons 1 because God has warned us for the longest time all this going to happen and to have our hearts prepared and while many don't listen and don't think it's going to happen I have listened to his voice and been preparing my heart for what is to come and so I have no need to be afraid.

2 there won't be anywhere anyone can hide anyways

3 God has shown all through out the bible that he protects his own.

If God told me and said I want you to tell everyone I'd do that but you know the people that try to predict it usually say, God told me. I see a lot of God told me to that on CC, some of which I think, uh me thinks it was your brain telling you to do that. But I don't say anything because I don't want to disillusion anyone.

I'm not saying God doesn't guide people. I know those gut feelings pushing you in a direction, after a lot of prayers about something I usually feel the Yay or nay about something. But there are times just out of no where I might see someone who looks like they're struggling with something and I feel a help that person, pay for their coffee or help them lift that into their car or yes give them the ten dollars you have in your pocket, you'll be fine. I've never felt, clean the house Jesus is coming.

At least we will not have to deal with that when we are in the New Jerusalem, after the millennial reign of Christ.

Rev 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Isa 65:16 That he who blesseth himself in the earth shall bless himself in the God of truth; and he that sweareth in the earth shall swear by the God of truth; because the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are hid from mine eyes.
Isa 65:17 For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.

When we are in the New Jerusalem,we will not remember the former earth, and it will never come to our mind, and we will feel like we have always been at the New Jerusalem, and nowhere else, and will be a place where sin has never been, and sin will never be,and rebellion will never come up again.

And the saints will not remember the former earth, and will not be sad for their loved ones, and the ones that did not make it,and the former earth will not come to mind, for it is associated with sin,and rebellion.

Hello Huglife, yes, that is terrible end and which is hard to comprehend. But there is another factor aside from the torment in flame, which will be the complete separation from God. I believe that even the most hardened person still has some link to God. But at the judgment they will be completely severed from their creator and I believe that will be something that will be worse than being in torment in flame.

Let's imagine what would happen if you came in here & told us the judgment were happening in 24 hours. I'd think we'd see this:

They cannot really know the date, but we will know when it is close,by prophesies in the Bible that are near those things.

I believe it comes from arrogance, for they think that God works in their life so much that they can predict dates, and foretell great things, which God resists the proud but gives grace unto the humble.

Arrogance can blind people to think they are greater than they are, then they have visions of sugar plums dancing in their heads, for arrogance is what keeps us from God,for all who are not in the truth,it all stems from arrogance in one form or another, for arrogance is rebellion of us doing our own thing, exalting ourselves above the knowledge of God,in one way or another.

They even go as far to think they can foretell the date of Jesus, when Jesus Himself said no man knows, and no person will know, and Paul said he does not know so he did not write concerning it,but gives a hint when it is close, when they say,Peace and safety, but they have the arrogance to think that is does not apply to their high and mighty self, but God bypasses what Jesus said in their favor to let them know, when the Son does not even know.What.

Humm cool and interesting question.
I would continue to spread the gospel with most of the time left . I would also try to cleanup any debts I have either financiall or personal. Thinking more about the question I have some mixed emotions. I would be eager and joyful for our Lords return I will also be heartbroken for those that harden their hearts, and turned their back on God .I have great joy in knowing Our Lord Jesus . I just desire that my nonbelieving friends and family members could know Him too .
Now come to think about it not knowing when our Lord when will return is truly a blessing. Yes prepare and expect it now but still prepare to doing our Lords work tomorrow. I believe that is better for our general sanity.
Yea I know that was a all over the place post ,but the question is packed full of many things beyond just knowing the date .
Blessings
Bill

Go John the Baptist on my non-Christian friends.
Hang out with family and friends in Christian fellowship and worship.
Read any of the good books I've been waiting to read (or to finish).
Visit fascinating but dangerous countries like much of the Middle East and Turkey and western Europe.
