DEFINITION: An idol is anything that takes a higher priority in your life than God.

It seems that some well meaning Christians waste so much time and energy on hating Obama that he becomes a idol to them by default. Even if he is not an idol of hatred, I fear some Christians can harbor unforgiveness towards Obama and Jesus said that if you do not forgive others, your own sins will not be forgiven.

I can't help but to wonder how many Christians are risking their Heavenly inheritance by hatred, unforgiveness and even idolatry toward Obama.

We are in this world not of it. Don't get bogged down with useless things of this fading world.

Just a thought........but "well meaning Christians," and "hating" ANYONE are two statements that can not possibly go together. If one has "hate" in their heart, they are not a Christian........but, now, that may just be me.....

As for Obama, I can't think of much I agree with him on, but "hating' him isn't even an option.......We are commanded to pray for those in authority over us........says nothing about what Political Party they are a member of.

Well now, look at you danchance. Here's your post from a thread about idolatry and the cross: "This is a great thread about something very important to us all and yet it looks like it has degenerated into common bickering. So very sad."

But then you want to talk about Christians being opposed to a president who advocates and supports homosexual marriage and abortion.

How long before the thread goes into common bickering?

Obama supports same sex marriage. He claims to be a Christian. Obama supports abortion. He demands that we pay for it. Yes he does.

Apparently you are not used to people who stand for the truth. You think someone who stands for the truth is bickering. Or hates someone.

Well, you are wrong. And people are just plain sick and tired of wishy washy, slap happy, fine and dandy, leave me alone, all lovey dovey, don't judge, don't offend, keep your opinions to yourself type of folks who call themselves Christians.

If you relate standing up for the truth as being hateful and idolatrous and bickering, then you are in the wrong calling.

Hope I didn't hurt your feelings. Sorry for putting it out there. I am so sorry. Feel better!

Amazing!

I agree he is not the ideal person for a president or maybe even a Christian, however we are called to love are we not? Maybe God will make an impact on his heart if we pray?

So killing unborn babies is not an obamanation unto the Lord? You think it is a waste of time to speak out against this man. Oh, Obama belonged to that church where the so-called preacher damned this nation.

If you wish to stand for the truth then you will have to learn to show love even to Obama and not be talking bad about him.

What scares me is how this will damage this country, and already is.
