How did Christmas affect you this year ? Did you find yourself
remembering Christ was more important to you than in the past?
Are you a Giver ? Or do you prefer to Receive ?
Was your Christmas a peaceful one ?

Yes, thanks for asking............our family enjoyed a wonderful Christ's Birthday. He becomes more precious every day to me. It is much like the Hymn........ "The Longer I Serve Him........"

Hope you and yours had a blessed day as well

Well, i think we all have to think about what you're talking about to become and someone who God want us to be,
I'm trying to become a better one, with the help of the Lord, i see a lot of people that i know being selfish, and this brings a deep sadness... But in the Christmas was really good i was in the church praising the Lord's name, thinking how he suffered for all us, and after all he raised up, Glory ! I want to be closer to God more than that !

Thank you, and yes it was especially nice and different this year.
We had a daughter come home from out of town and spent couple
nights. On Sunday before Christmas we had all our family in home
and I felt the Lord leading this gathering for a reason. We did take
time to pray and give thanks for all the Lord has done through the
year. Then Christmas day we were with our son and his family.
All went well. Peaceful ~ Jesus is truly Lord of all ~

It sounds like you are truly loving Jesus ~ You said you want to be closer and
the scripture comes to mind.... Draw near unto the Lord and He will draw near to you.
God bless you for such a sweet testimony ~

I forgot I asked if we are a 'giver' or 'receiver.'
For myself, I prefer to give. My husband and I buy through
out the year and I just consider it as receiving all year long.
I like to give throughout the year as well as Christmas.
There are many people who needed help this year and some
good ministries helping those in need.
Let us not forget to pray for those who still are in need.

No, it really wasn't. But God is good and had a few unexpected surprises for me. He has His plans and His reasons.

Christmas was completely different for me this year. It was my first as a Christian:) So, of course remembering Christ was more important to me this year than ever before. I cannot give Him enough praise and glory.

I am a giver and always have been. I love it when I find that perfect gift for someone. But, I am a gift giver throughout the entire year. If I see something that I know someone would like, I get it for them. I honestly don't care if people give me gifts. I have already been given the greatest gift of all.

Yes, I had a very peaceful Christmas. Thank you so much for asking.

Mine was peaceful. It was a little crazy GETTING to that peaceful day, but once we were there, it was quite delightful. For the first time in years, it truly felt like a blessing to spend several days together as a family, rather than feeling like a challenge or a mere obligation.

As for me, I consider myself to be a giver...I can be a very poor receiver, perhaps due to my pride. My family has never been super-gifty, and as a result, we maybe all give each other one gift, if that. But I really wanted everyone to be comfortable and welcome in my home, so I worked hard to get the house prepared, to make sure everyone had a place to sleep. I cooked breakfast for everyone each morning, and cooked the Christmas supper. It's in things like that, that I consider myself a giver...not that I present those that I love with things necessarily, but that I like to do things for them.

Mine was peaceful. Since I am a Mom of 2 young kids Christmas morning is a lot of fun for them and us. I've talked to my kids about God and Jesus since they could understand, but this year my Son had a lot of questions for me regarding Christ's birth. I did tell him that no one know's the exact date and we should celebrate his birth everyday. Not with presents but with our actions.

peaceful?...mmm...do you mean at heart?? also apart from the 'godly' part of Christmas, that is remembering the birth of Christ and all related, I must confess that the whole Christmas culture of you know, get togethers (to eat mostly) and gift giving and what not kinda just puts me off (and I mean that in a nice way)...would you consider that a problem or rather do you think I have a problem? I fear I might be turning into an uncle scrooge...well in this case an auntie scrooge...please let me emphasize the part where I said excluding the godly part of it...

God bless!!!

Ahh yes, a very peaceful Christmas! The choices I made this Christmas led to my father and I to talking about some issues we have between each other that I've been to afraid to speak to him about for years! We still have our disagreements but I confessed my faults and asked for his forgiveness and now I feel as if a great weight has been taken off me, so yes very peaceful indeed :D
I'm glad all yours were too!

My Christmas with my Lord was wonderful.

My Christmas here reminded me of a huge patch of violets I found hidden under a bush beside the porch when I was a miserable teen. They were deep purple examples of God's beauty. I wanted to share that with someone so much, but I knew most of them wouldn't see the beauty, but I tried to show Dad. Dad said they were pretty, but they needed weeding.

We have the ingredients of beauty of family, but no one is seeing the beauty, the weeds are taking over.

Well it was different I will say that. Wished it wasn't so emotional but I'm grateful to have been surrounded by family. I found giving was more fun than receiving. But it always is, isn't it? :)

Wow .... What a wonderful analogy. You have the most glorious
memory and ability to teach. May I wish you a wonderful New Year
2014, in Christ our Lord? Please keep sharing the beauty He has given
you. Truly, you are HIS handmaiden. Love in Christ ~

Yes, it is more fun giving. And as for receiving, it can sometimes be humorous and can be hurtful.
As for the emotional I do not know what part was difficult for you emotionally, but I do understand
'emotions' seem to come when we would prefer not to deal with them. I pray you will have a peaceful
and wonderful New Year in 2014. God be with you every step of the way and catch you when you
feel like you are stumbling. Know He is always there to show you the way ~ Blessings to you ~

Awesome testimony Ann. That is what Christ came for isn't it ? He brought peace to a
troubled world and still offers His peace through us. I am so happy to hear He allowed
a weight to lift from you. What a mighty God we serve. The Lord bless you and keep you
in His tender loving care. ~
