So, today I got closer to a near-death experience than I have ever before. Shiningthrupain and I were coming home from school and slid on a patch of black ice....nearly missed side-swiping the car on the side of road, to end up in the wrong lane, face-to-face with a huge Ford truck. I still can't decide what I should have been thinking about at that moment...but I wasn't thinking anything. My mind just kinda went blank until after she re-corrected and put us back in our lane. Then all I could think was how grateful I was for the Lord and for Laura's awesome winter driving skills. Now, after sitting and marinating in the moment a bit more... if we would have hit that truck and if the airbags would have deployed, I can almost guarantee that I would have had more than a couple broken ribs. I'm 5'9'' and 122 lbs... and the force at which those things come out would have definitely left an impression. Anywayz... I'm thankful to be unscathed. And feel ridiculous about the one time in my life when I felt I'd rather have been dead. Because I definitely didn't want to die today... I'm blessed compared to many people world-wide. I'm thankful for life today.

Have any of you have an experience like that you'd like to share? I'd love to read them!

I have almost drowned before at camp. I don't know if the next one counts, it really isn't a near death experiance, but I was on the road to death with my old life, and that scared the crap outta me.

Yeah, but that's the past now, and Jesus gave me a fresh start. Well actually he gave me like a few hundred fresh starts.

I went off the road once, it was raining and I turned my car like 4 times and crashed through a fence. I didn't have a scratch on me! Thank you Lord! I wasn't even scared when it happened, I was really at peace. It seemed like it lasted forever but I just felt God with me and knew I'd be okay.

I was also in a tornado, That was awful! Besides some minor cuts and coughing up a lot of dirt I was okay.

One of mine was when an old truck stalled across the highway in front of us only 30 feet ahead. I was driving at about 60mph. It was so close my hubby screamed as he turned to our children in the back seat. There were cars on both sides of us and to this day I do not know if I avoided the accident or if an Angel took over and did it. But as we came around to the other side of the truck all I could do was thank God.

One I have always regreted not speaking to my uncle about. My uncles aortic valve that leaves the heart burst. he was clinicly dead for 30 minutes. He was put into emergency surgery and he was revived but comotose for 32 days. When the desission was made to pull the plug, his body began to function and he fevived and returned home to live about 1 year longer fully alert and able. I heard he had a true after death expeariance and wanted to ask him about it but was too shy. I hope another family member can tell me as I am very curious.
God bless, pickles

I probably have. Im clumsy and random weird things happen to me. One time, well I was a first time driver...so forgive me, I dropped my phone in my car and went to pick it up. I heard a HONK...I was in the other lane, big truck after me. I swirve into the gravel....barely missed the car and didnt slide in the ditch.

One time I was playing on a raft. I was a kid and I fell off the canoe and my foot got caught in the canoe. My face was in the water and I thought "so this is how Im going to die" Well I squirmed out. Let me say, my life didnt flash before my eyes. haha.

(There are more...no doubt)

I met death.

I worked at a hotel about 2 years back. a lady, older was in the bathroom and someone ran into the breakfast area (I worked there) and told me. I went to the bathroom...there she was. I applied CPR. she passed, massive heart attack. I remember the blueness....the feel...Needless to say counseling and I had quite the relationship.

The end.

I am not sure I have had a clear-cut near death experience but I have had the odd accident which could have been much worse than it was but for a bit of good fortune.

The closest I came was about 3 years ago walking to work at 7.00am, it took me an hour to walk so I always set off early and I passed a private car park seperated from the pedestrian pathway by only a flimsy wire fence, the pathway was narrow and very close to a main road which had regular high levels of traffic.

Everyday I would hear this loud dog barking whenever I passed but I never saw it, something about me got it angry because it only barked when I was passing by and then it would quiet down, that was weird enough, one morning the thing just charged at me, the whole fence bowed and only just held up under the force, I don't know the breed of the dog but when standing on it's back legs it was taller than me at 5.8ft and much bigger built, so had the flimsy fence not been there I'd have been into the road and smashed by a car before I even knew what was happening.

After I had run faster than ever due to the shock I stopped to calm down, it was only when I thought back with a clear mind I realised how close I came to dying, the way it made me jump almost caused me to stumble into the road, so it was either get run over or get mauled, I was very lucky that day, but I still don't know why the dog reacted that way to me.

last summer I was working at a Christian camp and my friend was driving a golf cart and we skidded out, it could have easily flipped down the side of the mountain, but luckily I only got thrown out.
this year while I was working at a Christian camp we were off roading on a dirt road, and a turn camp up super fast and we hit a HUGE bush, luckily the driver hit the breaks in time cuz we could have easily hit the side of the hill full on.
and then I remember once when I was little I almost drowned.

I've never had a near death experience, but I like hearing about the people that have them and see a tunnel of light and stuff. Of course, scientists like to try to say it's a lack of oxygen in the brain causing them to hallucinate, or it's neurons firing off in the brain or something else that I don't understand. Stupid scientists :p
