So, today I got closer to a near-death experience than I have ever before. Shiningthrupain and I were coming home from school and slid on a patch of black ice....nearly missed side-swiping the car on the side of road, to end up in the wrong lane, face-to-face with a huge Ford truck. I still can't decide what I should have been thinking about at that moment...but I wasn't thinking anything. My mind just kinda went blank until after she re-corrected and put us back in our lane. Then all I could think was how grateful I was for the Lord and for Laura's awesome winter driving skills. Now, after sitting and marinating in the moment a bit more... if we would have hit that truck and if the airbags would have deployed, I can almost guarantee that I would have had more than a couple broken ribs. I'm 5'9'' and 122 lbs... and the force at which those things come out would have definitely left an impression. Anywayz... I'm thankful to be unscathed. And feel ridiculous about the one time in my life when I felt I'd rather have been dead. Because I definitely didn't want to die today... I'm blessed compared to many people world-wide. I'm thankful for life today.
Have any of you have an experience like that you'd like to share? I'd love to read them!
