Ephesians 1:
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath ""blessed us"" with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in the person of Christ Jesus:
6 To the praise of the glory of ""his grace"", wherein ""He hath made us accepted"" in the beloved (Jesus).
7 In whom ""we have redemption through his blood"", ""the forgiveness of sins"", according to the riches of his grace
13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, ""the gospel of your salvation"" in whom also after that ye believed, ye were ""sealed"" with that Holy Spirit of promise,
14 Which is the ""earnest"" (Down Payment) of our inheritance ""until the redemption of the purchased possession"", unto the praise of his glory.
(Recap: "Blessed" by the "Father's Grace", thru Christ's faithful sin redemptive payment & our faith placed in Christ. The Father as "made us accepted" and we have "forgiveness of sins" "through Christ's blood". "We're Sealed with the Holy Spirit". Which is the "earnest" of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, "US").
Earnest means a down payment on a contract to make all payments at an agreed upon time.
The moment you made a genuine confession of faith in Christ's: Redemptive Sin Atoning Sacrifice/payment & believe God raised him from the grave. You were SEALED with a down payment via God's Holy Spirit.
(Note: Not only is Christ our advocate (1 Jn 2:1) he's our final judge (Jn 5:22):
Verdict: NOT GUILTY - FULL SIN PARDON!)
Hebrews 9:12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
(Note: He obtained ETERNAL REDEMPTION for us. Not until we miss the mark (sin) again)
Rejoice, very soon Jesus will be coming to Redeem us. (see 1 Thes 4:16 & Jn 14:3). And so shall we ever be with the Lord.
