"What is better? To be born good, or to overcome your evil nature through great effort?"

Obviously not everyone here probably plays Skyrim, or video games for that matter lol. But this quote spoke to me and I thought I'd share

You're right, it is contradictory to the way the Bible says Jesus changes us.

i remember that quote -- it's close, but it's not the Truth with which we have to do.

it's His great effort that overcomes my evil nature, not my own - my redemption is a gift, not wages :)

I'm not a gamer anymore, but I recall a Castlevania title quoting Scripture somewhat poetically.

Dracula said:
How? How is it that I have been so defeated?
Alucard said:
You have been doomed ever since you lost the ability to love.
Dracula said:
Ah...sarcasm. "For what profit is it to a man if he gains the world, and loses his own soul?" Matthew 16:26, I believe.

You're completely right, but couldn't that, "great effort," be Jesus? That's the way I interpreted it anyway. Not trying to start an argument or anything since it's just a quote from a video game

No one's 'born good.'

And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone.

(Luke 18:19
