(No, I am not a cheerleader due to it being so expensive, but am one in heart. I am hoping God has it in my plans, it is my passion, my dream.)

Allstar cheerleading IS a sport. No, it is not your high school rah rah ree with your pom poms on the sidelines. It is hard core gymnastics, lifting up 110+ pound girls above your head, and keeping your motions sharp like no other. There are girls who break their leg/arm/nose while competing or with blood everywhere, and still keep on going for their team. I was surprised to see many things cheerleaders do in the gymnastic portion of the olympics.

Try to tell me it is not a sport after watching these videos from Worlds (the Olympics/Super Bowl of cheerleading) -

Maryland Twisters F5 Worlds 2012 - Maryland Twisters F5 Worlds 2012 Day 1 - YouTube
California Allstars Lady Bullets Worlds 2011 - California All Stars Worlds 2011 - YouTube
Cheer Athletics Panthers Worlds 2011 - Cheer Athletics panthers worlds 2011 - YouTube
California Allstars Coed Worlds 2012 - California Allstars Coed Worlds 2012 - YouTube
Cheer Extreme Senior Elite Worlds 2010 - Cheer Extreme - Worlds 2010 - YouTube

And a documentary just released yesterday of a YOUTH (11 years and younger) level 5 team, its amazing, must watch! The Twinkles: Chasing Perfection on Vimeo

So... Do you think Allstar, competitive cheerleading is a sport?

P.S. If you need more videos, I have a ton! :)
