I have a Mac mini (late 2012 model) and am in need of good bible software. I have numerous links to online resources but need dedicated apps that I can install on my Mac - we have regular power outages so online things are sometimes out of reach. I've searched the App Store but there doesn't seem to be anything there suited to bible study.

Does anyone here have experience with reliable/safe bible apps for Mac?

I did a bit of research after reading your post. According to the Crosswire Bible Society you're referring to Eloquent (formerly known as MacSword). Also, from what I've read on The Safe Mac, Wikipedia, and several Mac forums, Softonic is unsafe and has a history of bundling in adware.

Just wanted to update this thread. I found a package called Olive Tree. This app is available for iOS and Mac OS X, as well as Android and Windows. This company has tons of bibles and resources available that integrate seamlessly into the Olive Tree app. This package is very similar to the Accordance package mentioned earlier by crossnote.

Posting another nice resource: The Sword Project - CrossWire Bible Society's free Bible software project. Lots of information and modules for many different platforms.
