Chat is boring, (some of) the people are rude and they totally ignore you when you ask a question.. Forums are much much more fun..

I do not go any more because it seams "caned" and not live... I join... Same Bible Study dialogue every time... Someone asked me how I am doing... same question every 1-2 min into it... I quit... Not sure if it is "live"... Even if the people are live I don't think the study and its leader is...

In order of what comes into my mind:
-- Think I'm ugly, so don't want people to see me.
-- Not good at talking. (Good with writing, but stink at spontanious talking.)
-- Don't have a camera on my computer.
-- Even if I had a camera, I'm in a place where hubby walks by, so not really interested in making him feel uncomfortable in his own house.
-- Not usually dressed to be on video.
-- Don't like video talking.
-- Not good with things like downloading and then using apps.
-- Can't think of any good reasons to go.

Chat does not require a camera or mic. That is an option. I don't go in often but I never use a mic or cam when I do. It can be a bit restricting but not necessary.
Like all chats there is a typing option.

I've gone in the chats on and off for years, neither I, nor anyone I've ever known, felt this way. I find your suspicion quite odd and more reflective of your state of mind than anything realistic.
The BDF is always on the same topics as well. Is that canned?
You seem unduly suspicious.

I've yet to find a chat available on a forum board that isn't that elitist.
And also, if someone is posing in print in a forum they won't avail themselves of an audio~video chat for fear of being found out.
