I'm curious. What do you feel is the most difficult part of being a Christian?

Standing up for your beliefs even if you're mocked for it....after a while though God gives you the grace to handle it as you walk closer to God the sting so to speak does not sting anymore....because you're pleasing God and that becomes more important to you then others' verbal barbs....

Being a Christian. Being in the cross-hairs of Satan and his ilk, the world and your own flesh every single day. Standing for God's truth in an increasingly corrupt world where even your brothers and sisters in Christ sometimes shoot you in the feet eg. concerning gay marriage, evolution, abortion etc.

Oh, nice thread topic.

For me, in my experience, I would have to say sin, seeing it in the world, in myself, the effects of sin.

Overcoming our sinful and burning desires for self gratification is a daily struggle and this is the meaning of carrying our cross everyday.

If you think about it, Jesus didn't "carry his cross" to do anything in or for correcting or perfecting His life. He carried it, strictly, to serve us.

Yes out of His love for us. And is'nt it also a form of sacrifice for us to deny ourselves the desires that lead to sin that hurt God and separates us from Him?

Believing God can do something but not knowing if He will, or wondering why He doesn't.

I'm curious. What do you feel is the most difficult part of being a Christian?
The standards changed. I had no problem lying, cheating, stealing, pouting, or doing whatever I needed to do to get my way before. God's standards unlevel the playing field. Now I can't do what non Christians do every day.

I so love my God, my Savior, and I love what He's done for me. I love His word and spending time with Him. The most difficult part for me is watching people not get it. It's hard watching them not turn to God and love on Him and allow Him to love on them. Sometimes I just want to shake people and say, "Why can't you get this"!? *sigh* But, of course I don't. So, I just keep loving on them and praying for them.

Good idea. I'm actually one of those people who doesn't quite get it. That's actually one of the reasons why I posted this. Everyone goes on and on about the best parts of Christianity but rarely do I hear of the difficult parts.

Satan knows when God has us!! And so that makes him come after us all the harder...esspecially in the ways that are the closest to us.
It does get a bit tough to constantly have to give him (satan) a swift kick in the shins and keep the faith in times of trial and when we feel defeated.

Worth it for sure....but emotionally exhausting non-the-less.

You should read my posts. I don't sugarcoat the hard parts.

Want to read the hard part? Read Jonah. (Yeah, you know part of the story, but do you understand the Ninevites were to Jonah, what the Taliban was to America. What would you do if God asked you to go into Bin Laden's camp and tell them to repent?) Or try Job. Or read what Paul went through. Something is seriously wrong if it's not hard.

Loving people when you really don't feel like loving them.

When there is nothing you can find in them to love...

the responsibility you get, but I even had that before I got saved. That I have to make sure noone dies without Him because of my fault or laziness.
