so the fear of clowns is a growing one in fact they thought about getting rid of ronald mcdonald because he scared kids. my sister is terrified of them [i like to mess with her sometimes with clown pictures] i am not afraid of them but boy do they make me angry. i dont know why i just see red everytime a clown comes up to me and does their annoying clown act. when i was a little kid a clown was at my b day party and out of fury i attacked the poor guy....

Heartsearcher, in my opinion, clowns are just creepy and scary by nature. :( I dont like them either.

I saw a spot on Fox News this past weekend that said somewhere around 40% of children were very afraid of clowns........didn't know the number would be that high, but I can understand............I'm wondering how much Hollywood is to blame for this shift towards the fear of clowns..........think about the various "beasties/bad guys" Hollywood has portrayed as clowns in movies.

Chuckey comes to mind...........and then that guy in the Bat Man series............and others.........

I don't really care one way or the other I suppose..........don't fear them, but don't love them either.

That is a pretty good theory...or it good be the fact that clowns are just plain old evil...
Wow!! how time has changed. Kids used to get excited about seeing a clown as someone special. Using clowns in horror films didn't help their reputation.

I like him and he probably said or did something that violated policy. It doesn't make him a bad guy. I got banned several times on secular boards because I wasn't popular and was preaching the Lord. As a matter of fact one female poster on a CC thread that was recently closed was trying to get me banned. It's a small world.

I got banned from another christian site for saying hello to someone. Seriously. Apparently the person I said hello to wasn't one of the administrators favorite and they thought I was there to start trouble.... All I seriously said was HI.... I was unbanned but never got an apology for the overly paranoid administrator. Of course I no longer visit that site either.

ACtually one comment was made and we are no longer talking about them. Biscuit and I are talking about our own bannings but sometimes its good to let others know if the OP was banned so they dont continue comminucate with someone who is not there. Many people dont notice when it says "banned" and questioning/arguing with the moderators as to why someone was banned is what they dont like. Commenting that someone was banned is not the same thing.

anyway, enough of that.
As far as clowns are concerned many people have strange fears. I actually am terrified of butterflies. Can't stand them. They are pretty. I like watching them fly(from a LONGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG distance), but if one came near me it would be the end of the world.

Sometimes, I feel like I'm the only person in the universe who loves clowns.

I understand that; I have pretty severe scoleciphobia. The other night I was walking home in the rain, and I'm so glad no one was around to see me just standing on the sidewalk hyperventilating like an idiot because of a stupid worm.

Ants don't bother me because they have legs. Worms terrify me because they have no legs and no [visible] face. They're just a long, shiny, wiggly...thing. Something about that disturbs my soul.
