Okay, so summer is here.

Summer means cutting the lawn frequently. :(

So, what?

Concrete over the lawn?

Move house?

How many other ppl with backs that would not attain Olympic weightlifters' standards, face similar dilemmas?

So, anyone else face this kind of dilemma?
I wouldn't call it a dilemma.............more like a chore of great labour and pain that must be done.

I weekly mow and weed eat just shy of 10 acres and it does take it's toll physically........but it must be done......so..... :)

Drastic measures, such as concreting it over, or moving house, might be an eventual way out...

........ok, because some wish it to be, let me get more serious here......

Are we not charged by God to be "good stewards" of ALL of His Creations?

He didn't say "take the EASY way out..........."

........just saying........

:)

(oh, no, wait..........)

I don't subscribe to the 'Put your back out so you can't get to church' scenario... :)

Blessings.

When Christians don't sue each other, then liability does not matter, I suppose... :)

(Seriously, I have a great problem with Christians suing each other.)

Blessings.

I don't worry about that as I do it as a ministry for my church............not for financial gain............:)

And if anyone doesn't like the results.............HEY.........they are welcome to do it............

Well, if you don't have indentured servants.......uh, no, wait, I meant KIDS...........there are lots of folks who will do the task for you........but they do charge...........

OR........................you could DECLARE your property a WILDLIFE PRESERVE.........and JUST LET IT GROW!

It's okay, rehbein is just giving me a hard time. :)

Cutting lawns is a healthy thing to do; though those of us with backs that protest a lot are kind of excluded from enjoying it.

There are other threads for those subjects...

Unless you're looking for lost earrings on your churchyard's lawn...
yeah..........I get all mixed up as to which thread is which........what with all these BURNING SOCIAL issues we is discussing.....and, isn't it true that our lives are "intertwined" with ALL the choices we make?

Doesn't one choice have a effect upon other choices we may make? Seems to me they do.....if just in establishing parameters for our decision making process......

I rather enjoy maintaining my yard on a weekly basis, for me it means I am outside enjoying Gods beauty, while tackling some weeds.

i prefer meadows to neatly and primly butchered plantlife.

where i live someone has spent a lot of money and effort sodding the yard with expensive bermuda grass -- so i feel compelled to take better care of it than i have in previous locales. i still don't mow anywhere nearly as often as my neighbors..

at my last home i mowed sparingly, and always set the cutter up very high, so i had a deep, richly textured landscape of wildflowers and wild herbs and many grasses.

it's been my experience that you get happier chipmunks, insects and rabbits in the yard when you don't scrape and selectively poison the life out of it. if you never mow at all you get even larger animals hiding out there hee hee hee

but farouk, i would suggest astro-turf or gravel instead of concrete :p
