Is it for academic purpose or employment?
If it is for academics like getting into graduate school, if you have prior research experience, put it in your CV. It's good to include awards, scholarships and grants, publications you have written (if applicable), volunteer experience, any skills you have that is relevant to the program you are applying to, relevant course work that matches your career objective, certifications, etc.
For an employment make sure you sell yourself thoroughly and briefly highlight your work and volunteer experience, and qualifications and skills. You may need to customize it periodically to match the position you are applying to.
Provide strong contacts for reference/ letters of recommendation and get someone to proofread it before distributing it.
