I am not Reformed. I am evangelical and Protestant. I like R.C. Sproul (though have never read his books) especially talking about the holiness of God and not just his love, love, love, love. Yes, he is the God of love, but still that quality of him gets really overemphasized especially in the American culture today, where love does not mean what the Bible says. I am struggling with limited atonement and some parts of predestination.I wish that people understood predestination better, it gets a bad vibe from pretty much every place in the media and even in Hollywood in movies like The Adjustment Bureau and others. I also like John Piper and have read a few of his books. What I do not agree with R.C. Sproul on is I believe in continuationism not cessationism. I believe that miracles can still happen through the laying of hands and not just distant prayers and that a lot of people (not everyone) in western Christianity sadly believe miracles do not happen, even though you see them in the Old Testament and the New Testament. I just do not like putting God in a box. I like Todd White and his ministry, even though sometimes miracles weird me out, the real ones and not the fake ones. God bless my brothers and sisters in Christ. :)

Will, you're one of my favorite people at CC. :)

(also, i feel it incumbent upon me to state categorically i have never buried any of my daughters' potential suitors)

Don't let them know that.

Your lack of hostility and fidelity Sola Scriptura has qualified you to be considered an Honorary Ally equal in status to the aforementioned Lutherans.

You are hereby granted all of the amenities commensurate with your new title.

*Taps your shoulders with a sword.

There is only one thing in life worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about.- Oscar Wilde

Man. It seems like more and more of us are active on this site lately.

By that I mean the last week or so. People in the other theological camps probably sense some conspiracy.

I know Maxwel will. It's okay, Maxwell. Soon your head injury will confirm all.

Yes.

Yes you are.

And we're watching you.

Lower your shields and prepare to be assimilated.
Your ideological and theological distinctiveness will be added to our own.

preacher4truth preaches the truth,
Though he's rather uncouth.
He won't eat a meal in a booth,
And his friends call him Zeuth.(cut me some slack here guys, it rhymes)

Preacher4truth to a guy preached the truth,
Though the manner was really uncouth.
The guy got mad and knocked out all but one tooth,
Now preacher4truth calls Zeus Zeuth.

He could eat everything with that one tooth,
He even began eating in a booth.
But one day out came that tooth,
He got mad and said "shoot!"

He was broke, this preacher4truth,
He took pastorship of a church no bigger than a phonebooth.
He had to have money to replace his only tooth,
His congregants now call him preacher4tooth.

Did you write the final line and plan the poem accordingly?

Because if that was spontaneous, you should be on Whose Line.

I wrote it as I went along. And I used to LOVE Whose line. Little too out there for me now.

The Borg does not frighten me.

I call upon all men everywhere to rise up and assert their liberty!

Even if they are predestined to do otherwise.

Ahememem (throat clearing)

We are the Reformed.

etc, etc, etc.

Comparing me to a chick in a flowery hat...

there WILL be consequences.
