I'd love to exchange ideas and inspiration for Evangelism outside of our church buildings. 🥳
We do street worship and free fun days at local parks and we give out free coffee or ice pops or strawberries and cream.
We do praise marches and go from door to door offering practical help and/or to pray for people's needs.
But every church neighbourhood is different, so I would love to hear from you.
Let's inspire one another!

Yes. In fact, just this week, I witnessed at both the V A Clinic I go to and the Hospital. As well, just before my Heart Procedure, the Surgeon asked if I had prayed and said he had, and we should trust the outcome to be Gods will. I wear Christan Message t-shirts quite often when I go out on errands, or to the VA.

Remember though, how we live our lives is the greatest witness we can do............

Bless you!
What an important thing to witness to doctors and in hospital.
And best wishes for your health. ❤️

I always find the words “evangelizing“ and “witnessing” very confusing and I’m not sure if you all are aware of what they mean because one guy says “evangelizing“ and another says “witnessing”
Personally I never use the word “witness” because it just seems very strange to me, but I do use the word “evangelize”.

With this being said, I found an explanation here : https://www.ligonier.org/learn/devotionals/witnessing-vs-evangelism which gave me a pretty good explanation.

First, we should consider the distinction between witnessing and evangelism. Essentially, witnessing is a broad category of which evangelism is a subset. Biblically speaking, the task of bearing witness is to make visible what is otherwise invisible to us. Our task as Christians is to show forth the reality of God's blessed reign. We are to bear witness to the invisible kingdom of God and make it visible by testifying to its existence in a variety of different ways.

Thank you for clarifying that.
Being able to explain the difference between frequently confused terms is always helpful.
Having said that, in my question I was referring to events where people belonging to a particular local church or Christian group come outside into their community or neighbourhood and bless the people out there with activities promoting Jesus, to help outsiders understand the Christian message.

At my church we do things similar to yours involving food and drinks as well as going and doing something helpful for the poor.
For example we are building homes for people in USA and Mexico for free.
So people in our church give time , talent and money to spread the message of God in self sacrifice.

That is wonderful! It's so good to see that everybody can do something precious if only we make ourselves available
❤️💪❤️💪❤️.
I remember doing a similar project in London back in the 90s. That was called Habitat for Humanity and I remember many different churches getting involved in that as well as many different secular groups. It was an amazing opportunity to bless needy people and make friends and connections with loads of other like-minded folks, Christians and non-Christians. 💪

God bless you so much!
As far as everyday living goes, that's for sure the most supernaturally natural way of sharing our faith with others. ❤️

The question I asked in my thread was how your church goes about when they take the Gospel outside the church putting on events.

No excuses allowed here!
Old age very often leads to wisdom.
So you could at least suggest a tasty brand of coffee that the not so old ones can offer to folks in the street! ❤️❤️❤️
This thread is all about pooling ideas and sharing them.
Not so much about coercing Christians out into the streets to evangelize. Everybidy can get involved in a way that's perfect for them. 🤗🤗🤗

my favorite coffee comes from a website called fresh roasted coffee dot com. i get organic from them because i find it doesn't bother my tummy. :giggle:

i won't wish anyone luck, because i don't believe in luck. i DO believe in the success of the Gospel because God has a purpose and plan for its success! may all the efforts in the spread of the Gospel meet with the lost becoming part of the Family. :)

You are very wise. ❤️
No one can come to Jesus unless the Father draw them.
Totally agree.
But I have also learnt that it is such a wonderful thing to go out there in Jesus' name and have meaningful chats with very different people and to bless them in some way or other.

God bless you and may He give you the right thing to say at any given moment. Keep up the good work.
What you are describing sounds like everyday evangelism at its best.

one church group holds free fun days at the library and does after school care

I attended another where they actually did some street preaching on friday nights on the main street (mostly to people out partying/drinking) but I never went because of transport issues getting home safely.

I havent seen much evangelism in parks though sometimes JWs do set up little stands, again, outside libraries and they are the ones that go door to door annoying people along with mormons, so christians here dont tend to do the door to door thing.

Here its more rest homes, prisons and schools, not actually out on the street (parking issues, people getting run over, blocking footpaths) though have heard some churches do beach missions.

I always thought a sermon on the mount is a good idea and where I live whyhere are many hills that we do call mountains though no actual snow covered ones where, if you go up to the top you can preach a sermon, though in all my years of church going no church ever did this it was always sunday...you go hear a sermon inside a building and sit in pews or chairs. often these churches would even be windowless barns and the only light would be from the screen projector, a way to fall asleep to a powerppont presentation

Every church setting is different.
Are there any people here from similar settings to the one described here? If yes, maybe you have a few suggestions how such churches can reach out to their neighbours. 🌻

Hi, Keris, It's great that you and others are in the public doing these things for Christ Jesus. City on Hill. And, It's great that you are reaching out searching for ideas from like minded Christians as well, but ~ Proverbs 3:5&6
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. (You and The Holy Spirit have Got!) Keep on Keeping on! ~ Always in Christ (rdm)

I am not that great at talking to strangers, but I try sometimes if I have an opportunity at a bus stop or park bench.

Mostly I give out tracts. Recently I gave out nearly 50 Gospel of John booklets with Romans-road type bookmarks in them at a big festival. The Lord God can use these and I always pray for the folks that get them. God has to ultimately do the saving but we can plant the seeds.

In the Christmas season I find it is a great time to give Christmas related tracts to checkout people.
