Deep sea or stream fishing? What kind of tackle do you use? Please make sure you take photos of the whoppers you catch!!! :D
Mostly river or lake fishing. When I lived in Texas, I used to go every weekend to Texas City and fish off of the Pier. Those were some good times. Now I live in the Fresh Water Capital of the US for fishing........soooooo it's rivers, lakes, and the occasional pond. Good fishing though. My best times were when my Brother in Law lived here and we would spend all the time we could at Guntersville Lake or fishing the Tennessee River. He/they moved, so now I'm a soloist....sigh.... :(

Yeah.

I'm gonna need more than that Willie. :)
A little known secret is that humor is not so much in the content of the delivery, but in the reception of the hearer. In other words, If I might seem funny, it's mainly because you have an engaged sense of humor.

I live in Texas, too. San Antonio isn't too very far from me. :D
Ever been to The Gateway Church in Austin? It's pretty much a mirror of our church here in St. Pete.... only bigger.

I own a window cleaning company. I don't have social life. No church, no friends, not even a pet. God seems to always find a way to reach me through someone. I come to this website because its useless to resist communicating with Christians.
I can understand your concern but some people choose to not communicate with their surrounding society. I don't go to church because most of the churches around me are of man made creed. I don't have friends because I haven't met a real one yet.

This website is my church. I'll spend as much time with it as I can. I know I can always find someone to talk to in a virtual house of the lord.

By the way, I love people. I was abused when I was a child. Its hard to have a social life because I don't know if I can trust people. But I trust God.
I love that quip!

I totally get what you're saying, Rachel. I get disgruntled when I'm sharing time with one of my adult kids or a friend and they start texting somebody. That's a pet peeve of mine.

But as for spending time here at CC, it's the best social media place I've found in all the years I've been online. My job offered me the benefit of working at home so I'm usually online anyhoo. I'm also a writer and am researching online regularly.

Most of all, there are some awesome people here of whom I've grown accustomed. ♥ I hope I get to meet some of them face to face someday. But for now, it blesses my heart to know they are right here. :)
And, you bless us the same way, Special Lady.

Im sorry that you were abused as a child. I don't trust people either, but I think that's what Jesus is trying to show us with showing love and trusting Him. People will fail us, even the people most closest to us. I struggled with that for a long time. Just like church, they are people in this church, all sinners, so no church will be perfect, and neither will the people be in there. Just like the people on this website arnt perfect.
We aren't?????

Ive noticed that a lot of the same people are in every single post. Im just curious if most of you have jobs or hobbies or a life? I say that out of nice-ness, I really do. I honestly feel concerned that this website is most of peoples lives. That this website is where most of their friends are, behind a computer screen. I know theres a lot of websites where people do the same thing and its no different than the people who play video games all day long either, but I want to ask SOME QUESTIONS...

If you could go without this website for 1 week, could you do it without a problem?
Or would you be have withdrawls?

I think a lot of our problems these days is we forget how to be social with the real world. We easily pick up our phones when we are standing in line or waiting on something. We pick up our phones and go straight to facebook (which I don't have on my phone for that reason).

When I see the same people every time I come on this website post over and over and over, I honestly in my heart feel concerned that they arnt out living life to the fullest. They arnt being an example in the world and sharing others of Jesus. Im not saying you cant help people behind a screen, but what about others out in the world? What about the ones who don't have access or the ones who need a hand or a listening ear face to face?

Now Im sure this is going to strike a nerve to some people and I honestly think it will be the people that this topic is referring too. Like I mentioned before, its not supposed to be mean, but I am being straight-forward.

I have thought of this for awhile now, but now I think is a good time for me to mention this and get your in-put.
Yes, I been off this site for a month, before now, purely because I do have a life hehe, But as teh saying goes, if the rent is free, people will flock to stay.

That is one thing that I enjoy about power outages is spending real quality time with your family without the hassle of media. I am a board game junkie, I enjoy collecting board games and so I actually prefer to play a board game rather than video games anyway.
As opposed to video games, board games are fantastic because you actually interact with other humans... I mean, you engage in this neat, almost forgotten mystical thing called "conversation".

On a quick serious note, it scares me how inept most kids have become at simply talking to another person. They seem to understand almost nothing about eye-contact, verbal innuendos, poignant silences, social clues, and subtle body language.

I know most of you avoid the chat room. But perhaps a group of us can arrange a special chat night (or day) like our own little CC party. The chat gives you the option of using a mic (or not), or even webcam (or not). We don't have to meet in the Lounge (that's the main room!) or the Bible Study (that is similar to the Bible Discussion Forum :p gahh!). We could meet in any of the other rooms they have available. I'm not the greatest administrator so someone else could actually arrange the details. But I can create an awesome OP invitation. LOL Anyhow... just a thought.
As much as I like to talk and write, I honestly have no interest in chat rooms. Thanks anyway.

The power grid in South Africa is under tremendous strain and we deal with "load shedding" ( 4 hours without electricity) on a regular basis.

You learn to appreciate the small things like working traffic lights, cup of coffee and petrol in your car :) God is good!
We call them, "Rolling Blackouts" here. They are usually only employed during high peak usage times... such as Holidays.

That's what I thought about smoking. Oh, day 14 of being smoke-free, btw. Like you have said before, the pain must be processed before you can move on.
Great job brother, a battle I fought and won myself. I can't sugar coat it, that had to be one of the hardest things I've ever done in my life, and was done before I accepted His help, or even His existence, but He help me through it none the less. It's a hard road, but man once you're on the other side it will feel like one of the best things you've ever done. It was for me anyway, but I will pray God gives you the strength to press forward. I have one question if you don’t mind and if you do just don’t answer. Are you using anything to help you stop? I personally used Nicorette gum to help curve those craving fits when you get to the point where you feel like you just want to choke someone. It wasn’t a magic cure or anything like that, it would just help balance me out, and I was not around a bunch of while I was trying to quit either (which had to be Him working in my life because this is about the only time in my life I wasn’t around many smokers). I will pray for you to be able to overcome this horrible vice and trap.
