Sometimes I see and look at all the evil in the world and just feel like giving up sometimes. :( What can I (1 person) do?

I really would love to make a positive difference....but don't even know where to start! SO many things are messed up it's very overwhelming! I pray for direction because I'm to the point of throwing my hand in the air.

Hi Cecilia
I once felt like what you felt and I actually began to feel stress & even pressured thinking that I had to do something. I've even made a fool of myself on a couple of occasions for being over zealous and things did not work out well.

Looking at situations can bring us down and want to give up. We cannot change everything and everyone but we can make a difference to anyone who comes across our paths whether it be family, friends or even strangers.

Sometimes we think we need to move forward to do something but sometimes we need to take two steps back and rest in the Lord and seek the Lord for guidance. Its important to be led by the Spirit and not try to do things in our own strength. The Lord knows who needs what and when the time is right the Lord will send you to the person/place or sent the person to you.

In the meantime, we need to continue to grow in the Lord and let his love and light shine through us. You will be amazed at how a person can see that in us and be attracted to this light and want to know what's that glow within us. And that gives us opportunity to speak about Christ.

May God fill your heart with peace as you rest in Him!

Amen to what Twinkle said.

I know the feeling. It feels like the good is lost in all the bad.

Remember this: A tiny act of love can make someone very happy, maybe even change someones day

If God intends you to do something huge, he will enable you to do so, but to the people you meet, maybe what you consider nothing, is something amazing :)

Thank yall. You're both right. I should just focus on what's in front of me, and God will present opportunities as they come. :)

Cecillia504 i completely understand and yes sometimes it takes one kind thing to make a difference but most of all what ever you do make sure that it is to glorify God and not us. do it in God's name , you don't have to overload someone with brochures and Bible pamphlets but give it with a little note of love and start small :
give bags of love to seniors, someone with children , homeless shelter , house for battered women and children etc..
in the bags soap, lotion, shampoo & conditioner, toothpaste, mouthwash, combs, brushes, wash clothes, bathroom tissue, personal items like that will go a long way because a lot of seniors have to make their checks cover more than they have and family does not always help or care . or if you go to a small church give the seniors a bag of food .in cold weather gloves, hats, scarves, socks , ear muffs, you would be surprise at how this makes them feel but most of all you will feel WONDERFUL

years ago i wanted to do some food bags and i had ONLY $10 to spend well with God's help i made 4 bags that went to 4 different people/families
so yes small things make wonderful blessings.

Wishing you well with whatever God leads you to do

The best thing you or anybody can do in your situation is, flee the false chruch system, repent of any vile sins that beset you,and seek the mercy of God! ISA 55-7.

Get grounded in the faith, but make sure you have a strong saving obedient faith!

Preach the truth in and out of season, warn your family and friends, and all the spirit leads your way, to repent, and follow Jesus! And dig deep for the truth before your conscience gets seared by all the false teachers and wolves that are coming by the droves!

And I should heal them!

Mat 13:15For this people's heart is waxed gross, andtheirears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see withtheireyes, and hear withtheirears, and should understand withtheirheart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

Strong warning from Jesus Himself, which clearly describes the state the church, is in today! Many hearts are waxed cold and dead to God, they seek pleasure and indulgence over purity and self-control, they think they are hearing the truth when it’s all vanity, lies and deceit, telling them they can sin like the devil, and still be saved!
They close their ears to truth because it convicts them to the core, asking them to do and obey, instead they flock to hear rest and trust in something that never happened. They do not see the wrath to come as they sin with impunity telling others its normal and God looks the other way, or His great mercy covers them as they rebel against Him seeking many false teachers who tell them all is well, repentance isn’t necessary, or make it out to be just an apology for their sinful condition.
Now the door is still open to those who have not shut it yet! But it comes with a high price, which includes repentance on the scale of Nineveh, coming to self as the prodigal did, and seeking His mercy while there is still time.
This healing doesn’t come from admitting you were born a hopeless sinner, or you are the Romans wretch, or just accepting Jesus as your wrath substitute, but from a real conversion that can only take place by doing this first:
Jas 1:21 Therefore putting aside all filthiness and overflowing of evil, receive in meekness the implanted Word, which is able to save your souls.
Jas 1:22 But become doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

The Lord can overcome the evil of the world. Just do as he tells you.

Cecilia,

God promises to only give to us what we can handle. Try taking life one situation at a time. If you see a need and the Holy Spirit leads you to help that person then help them. We are all members of Christs body and it takes all of us together to accomplish his work. So just focus on one situation and then move to the next. God knows everything about everyone and will take care of his children. He will also instruct us when he needs our help or is testing our faith. He even knows how many strands of hair we have on our heads! He is awesome. Open your heart to Him. He will guide you!

Matthew 6:26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?
Matthew 10:30 And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

1 Corinthians 12:12 The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ.

1 Corinthians 12:26 If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.

Ephesians 1:23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.

Ephesians 4:12 to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up

Ephesians 5:30 for we are members of his body.
is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.

Don't mind him, some people here focus more on the law than on grace
