I just prayed for a friend of mine for his Salvation and I felt the presence of GOD there, but my friend didn't cry. I just need to know if he was meant to because I know how powerful getting Saved is.

Well usually when we are broken with a contrite heart we cry and also when the Holy Spirit is ministering to us we cry because it is so overwhelming.
BUT, thats not to say something didnt happen! You have a done a wonderful thing. You prayed for his salvation and things are happening in the spirit. Now, try to take him where you worship and help him in his Bible studies. Introduce him to guys that are following Christ. Faith come by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17

Just keep praying for his salvation in your prayer closet. May the Lord equip you to serve him and lead many to Christ. Amen!

I don't know anyone who is born again who did cry. Deliriously happy, but not crying.

The night that I received Christ through faith and was born again, I did not cry, but I sure raised my hands in the air and was praising the Lord! I was full of peace and joy! I cried a little bit the next day at my baptism because I was really overwhelmed with joy as I shared my testimony with 1,000 people at church how I finally came to receive Christ through faith. I shared with those people how I grew up in the Roman Catholic church and was hung up on works and blinded to the gospel and how different people have tried to share the gospel with me but the truth at that time just went right over my head, until I did finally receive Christ through faith, then everything that was previously said came back to me and it was like a bright light came on over my head, "that's what he/she/they were trying to tell me! I finally get it! Praise the Lord! :)

How can you tell if the person was saved after you've prayed for them? Are guys different? I am only concerned because many people who have said that they we're saved don't behave that way and seem as if they have only had an encounter with the Holy Spirit. The guy said he felt like he could see and fly, but he just wasn't as emphatic as I thought he'd be. I don't have any experience with this so I'm a little scared of being wrong.

Everyone is different I suppose; its not a cookie cutter response. Its not up to us to say if he is saved or not . Only God knows this mans heart. Over time you should see some kind of evidence of salvation in him . He will start bearing fruit. The time passed is also different with everyone. It is dependent on his dedicating himself to reading and studying the Bible ,his prayer life, and fellowshipping with other believers. Introduce him to men who are respected in your church. Leave the rest to the Holy Spirit. It is he that sanctifies us;not ourselves.
Keep on doing the Lords will by spreading the good news of the gospel! Leave the rest up to the Lord.
Rejoice! Jesus Christ came to set the captives free! Hallelujah

Different people have different emotional reactions.
When people receive Christ on their "inside", they don't all show it the same exact way on their "outside".

Time will always tell.
If the person is saved, they will be changed on the inside, and there will be evidence of that.
They'll begin to do things differently, and think differently, and act differently.

It shouldn't matter. What's in his heart is between him and God.

...he just wasn't as emphatic as I thought he'd be...I'm a little scared of being wrong.
I hope you don't feel as though you've done or inferred something wrongly. Try not to worry about it! This really should be about him, after all. :)
