I see people keep talking about people interceding and that's why God changes His mind. But does God really change His mind if He knew they were going to intercede? So the question I have is, lets say God told you something specific that might happen to you or that you might get a certain job and then it never happened and you know 100% it was from God and not the enemy (NO this is not pertaining to me personally). You prayed and meditated on it for a long time and had other people pray for you with it, and still nothing even over a year later?

I promise this isn't where I was going to go with this, but thought after reading everyone writing me, that I would ask in a situation like this, would God be lieing? Ive had this question for awhile if God changed His mind or not, and its really a debatable question. But Hes also the all knowing. So I always wondered if God would tell us something is for us and then He take it away before we had it?

Ok it might have been of God, but it also might have been misinterpreted and that God has actually pointed towards something a little different, per example not a specific company's office but a job of that type. Or it might not yet be the time - God did not specify when. Or the person lacks faith that it will happen and that is actually blocking the road - maybe God wants to teach them to trust Him unconditionally. It could have been something that the person wants, that God does lead some people to, but they themselves were not specifically led by God, it's their own desire or they guilted themselves into it that they should do it. Maybe the person needs to use their talants more first in order to have it increased to be used in this position. Not saying it's any of that, I'm just giving examples, it could be dozens of reasons, all kinds of such mistakes people make on their way. The only thing that surely did not happen is God lying. I guarantee you with my life that God does not lie. We can all take a deep breath and rest. He really is trustworthy :)

P.S. I wish I had a dollar every time I read "God told me" this or that. Now I'm not saying this about or because of your friend - my point is that I'm honestly worried that you rather question God than men. Or ask if God is lying rather than examining other possible reasons why it did not yet come to pass (which could be many). Let God be true but every man a liar. God has undergone so much for us and even beyond the grave to save us. His heart really must be breaking to be questioned about His intents and character after all He has done for us.

So much misunderstanding shown on this thread. It is almost heart breaking...........

Does God have a Master Plan? Yes. Does He ever change that Master Plan? No.

Now, in certain circumstances, does God accept the pleading prayers of a faithful child made in intercession for another child? Yes. Does this constitute Him changing His mind? I suppose the definition of "changing His mind" is in the eye of the beholder. So, a couple of questions:

1) What is the definition of an "Intercessor?"

2) What is the purpose of an "Intercessor?"

3) If the actions of the Intercessor are of no worth to God.............why is Jesus Christ sitting at His right hand interceding for us this very morning?

God does indeed change His mind. When He came to destroy all of mankind on the earth. He saw Noah, the only one that can be counted as righteous on the planet, and saved him along with his family. Again He came to destroy Sodom, but told Abraham that He would not if He could find the number of righteous that Abraham counted down to, since God didn't not find the last number that Abraham asked about, God instead took Lot and family out and destroy Sodom anyway.

In answering prayer God has the right to say yes, to say no, and to say wait. But God does not lie.

I don't believe God ever "changes his mind" but that this type of expression
is used because this is how we think and act. God is immutable, He never
changes. So this expression is an anthropopathism, attributing to God a
characteristic He doesn't actually have, but which is understandable to our
limited minds. The same idea applies to expressions about things like
the "hand of God" or the "eye of God". He doesn't actually have hands or eyes
but we do, and we understand about these physical human characteristics.
With physical characteristics, its an anthropomorphism. So the intention of these
expressions is to communicate in a manner that we can relate to.

I might add that God knows the beginning and the end, He is omniscient, and
the future is as well known to Him as the past. Nothing takes Him by surprise.
God is both in time and space, and outside of time and space. He is the
inventor of time and space.

Interesting comments...............will you tell me your opinion of the Scriptures of the "transformation" of Jesus that the Apostles witnessed? Are these Scriptures false?

I have a question. My whole life I was always told that God is the All Knowing, in which I agree. Many stories in the Bible God changes His mind with doing things, like destroying Nineveh with Jonah and when God wanted to destroy the people of Israel with Moses.
Does He actually change His mind?

Nope. . . . . .

The transformation was a glimpse of the glory that belongs to
Jesus Christ as the God-Man. His glory was veiled during most
of the incarnation.

someone once said something like God is always doing 10,000 things in our life and we are aware of 3 of them.

that is almost the answer you seek. and the same thing is said in his word. (see later)......

Rachel, if you listen to most people anywhere, including most posts on this forum and thread, you will be confused.

so as it is written(as yahshua said) take care what you listen to. guard your heart and mind in christ jesus.

the answer to your question that no one answered (i think; i might have missed it), is YES - God "would tell us something is for us, and then HE take it away before we had it" . that happens every day to many people.

God conditioning his actions is not a change of mind.

If my son cleans his room, he may go over to his friend's house.

There are two opposing outcomes to my one condition:
my son gets to go over to his friend's house, and
my son does not get to go over to his friend's house.

The latter is not a change of my mind from the former, it is my mind.
The former is not a change of my mind from the latter, it is my mind.

The answer is: No, God does not change his mind.

So, did he have a head, face, hands, body, feet? He is fully God.

Yes He changes His mind. The Scriptures are clear on that. And God CANNOT lie! [Scriptures below, Darby translation.]

Titus 1:1 Paul, bondman of * God, and apostle of Jesus Christ according to [the] faith of * God's elect, and knowledge of [the] truth which [is] according to piety;
Titus 1:2 in [the] hope of eternal life, which * God, who cannot lie, promised before the ages of time,
Titus 1:3 but has manifested in its own due season his word, in [the] proclamation with which I have been entrusted, according to [the] commandment of our Saviour * God;
Titus 1:4 to Titus, my own child according to [the] faith common [to us]: Grace and peace from * God [the] Father, and Christ Jesus our Saviour.

II Timothy 3:16:
Every scripture [is] divinely inspired, and profitable for teaching, for conviction, for correction, for instruction in righteousness;
II Timothy 3:17:
that the man of God may be complete, fully fitted to every good work.

i didn't look it up but there's an instance where an issue of consecration was involved & God changed His mind or way.
