... and the chair won.

But seriously, folks. Why are the democrats getting all foamy about this? For the party that's usually accused of being so "cultured" it's snooty, I have to wonder if they've really never seen the theatrical device that's at least as old as Shakespeare, maybe even older.

And Clint, bless his heart, despite his stammers (and an actor should know better, too) asked some good questions. Why DIDN"T Barack ask the Russians before starting that war in Afghanistan?

So I find myself thinking the chair is the best candidate for president. Can I vote for it?

A ventriloquist uses a dummy as the straight man, but some then might have used that as an inference about the president. Seems the dummy gets all the attention and steals the show.

Ooops ... my bad, someone else already stole THAT show ...

You are 43 years old and you don't remember what happened 11 years ago..and yet you know for certain that 2 thousand years ago there was some jew who was raised from the dead...You are free to believe in anything you you want to believe in...ok I can understand that you have memory issues, but there is that thing called the internet, if you didn't get it yet - it wasn't Barrack Obama who invaded Afghanistan and Iraq...but why would you care for the truth? As long as you call yourself a "christian" you can say all sort of crazy things on sites like CC and get away with it...and I'll be probably banned(I couldn't care less)

Let's see ... 11 years ago, I was 32, the year was 2001. You may be referring to 9/11, which of course I do remember. But I'm not sure why you're referring to that, or how I'm supposed to know that that is what you're referring to, or even what that has to do with the price of tea in China. Do you even remember what you're talking about?

and yet you know for certain that 2 thousand years ago there was some jew who was raised from the dead...
I have faith that 2,000 years ago my Lord and Savior conquered death so that all who believe in him will have eternal life.

If you do not share that faith, then I am sorry. I would love to share with you the joy I have found in Christ Jesus, and invite you to experience it for yourself. I know that is nigh impossible though cyberspace, but if you're open to hearing, I'm sure there are plenty of Christians closer to you who would welcome you with open arms.

But again .... I'm not sure why you're bringing this up, or what it has to do with the discussion at hand.

You are free to believe in anything you you want to believe in...
As are you.

ok I can understand that you have memory issues,
Yes, well, they say that's the second thing to go. I forget what the first is.

but there is that thing called the internet, if you didn't get it yet -
As the old commercial said, you're soaking in it.

it wasn't Barrack Obama who invaded Afghanistan and Iraq...but why would you care for the truth?
I don't think I implied that he did, and if I was unclear, I apologize. I was responding to a speech made at the GOP convention, where they took Obama to task for being in Afghanistan. Yes, I know he didn't start it. I know Bush started it. Obama was elected partially on the promise to "bring the troops home," and he didn't. I don't blame Obama for starting the war, but I do hold him responsible for continuing and worsening the situation.

As long as you call yourself a "christian" you can say all sort of crazy things on sites like CC and get away with it...
Heck, on the internet, you can say all sorts of crazy things anywhere, no matter what you call yourself. Remember? You're soaking in it.

and I'll be probably banned(I couldn't care less)
Oh, I bet you could if you tried.

BTW, I just re-read my comment, and I indeed perpetuated the myth that Obama started the war in Afghanistan. I was not clear that I was quoting Clint at that moment, and for that I apologize - I should have been more clear.

Just to make it crystal clear, Mr. Eastwood said, in his speech, that Obama "should have consulted the Russians before he started that war in Afghanistan." It was a great line. It was hilarious. Of course, it's a little off the mark, because, as IWTD noted, brother Barack did not start the war, he just continued it.

Sorry for the confusion.

Yup, the yankees should have talked to the russians about it - and listened to their advice, which basically would have been: don't go there.

That reminds me what Churchill said "“You can always count on Americans to do the right thing - after they've tried everything else.” They invaded two countries that had no weapon of mass destruction...and finally got Osama bin laden in...Pakistan - a country with nuclear weapon...(No offence, it's just a funny quote I really DO admire and like amercians).

I'm just gonna add something to this topic, as a former military member, and also one who is friends and acquaintances with many, many current military members. Barrack Obama DID bring troops home. Many, many, many troops were brought home. To say otherwise is a blatant lie. Bush sent troops. Barrack took them home. He banned new troops from being sent as well. To ignore that is a lie as well. Afghanistan has it's own problems, but Barrack did not start it, nor did do anything near what Bush did to this country. Don't get this twisted. Also, you cannot just take every troop home in a blink of an eye. There are procedures, and the problem with Afghanistan is that the local troops and policeman we trained have not been effective. We stay to protect innocent civilians. We continue to train, and continue to do the right thing. It would be wrong to leave now, as the taliban would simply take over the country again.

I don't even support Obama, nor do I support Romney. I prefer Ron Paul libertarianism at this point, but I don't remove the facts to support an opinion.

Thank you for your honesty, maturity, and respect, to bring truth to this discussion, even about a man you don't support as president.

I actually don't like any 3 of them (Romney, Paul, OR Obama), but agree that the language against all of them is getting out of hand.

In case you didn't see this, I'm just going to post this here for you. Grunge went back to look at her statement after you had said something, and then she posted this response to what you said.
