I came across this topic in another forum. It asked if you would allow your kids (if you have) to celebrate it and if you had yourself. The OP brought up its pagan and arguably Satanic origin. Now, I say regardless of its origin, it's now just a fun holiday for kids, teens, and those who are still kids at heart to have parties, get dressed up, or go trick-or-treating (though the latter don't really do that much
). I celebrated it when I was a kid and through my teenage years and never once did I feel an urge to turn away from the Lord. Neither have my sisters or any of my friends and neighborhood kids. My wife and I are certainly giving out candy this year and we have Halloween decorations.

I think if we follow the logic that we shouldn't celebrate Halloween because of its pagan origin, then according to this, we shouldn't be allowed to decorate our homes for Christmas because the decorations have roots in the Norse Yule festival.

The origins of Christmas stretch back further than Norse Yule, but I understand your point and I agree completely. In fact, it wasn't until very recently that it became legal in the US to decorate your home at Christmas, as it was seen as a Pagan ritual.

Christmas is not biblical. It's a man made tradition.

i can't remember where to find the passage but it tells us not to give in to the traditions of man. Personally i don't decorate or celebrate any holiday. yes that includes christmas and easter. i think that my choice to deter from the practice of the holidays has alot to do with me coming out of witchcraft and everytime i see the decorations and the ritualistic practices i remember how each one was used to glorify and worship a false god so for me yes i feel it would tempt me to return to my old ways to celebrate them.

The Word also says that if one is ingnorant in their ways let them remain so for it would be better for them to do it in ignorance then to for them to do it knowing what they are doing so i will neither condone the practice nor condemn one who does.

My son plays MMORPGs (limited because of his age) which is pretty much mentally dressing up and playing pretend. I don't see much of a difference between that and dressing up in public. It's just that Halloween is the only time that we can wear costumes in public without people questioning our sanity.

This is what he wore last year:

no, when I look what discussion topics there are it is annoying to see a list of the same thing in multiple threads, why not just continue in the discussion that is already there instead of starting a new one and repeating the same ramblings over and over??....that's all!...a pure logic way not to clog the forums.
