I've only told this to one other person... and its not terribly exciting.. But one evening back in 2004 (before I found Jesus), I was in the large parking lot of a big electronics store. It was evening rush hour and I had gone to this store to kill some time while the heavy rush hour traffic dissipated so I can drive the rest of the way home. I had popped the hood just to check on a small cover in the engine bay of my new car which I noticed was loose earlier.
Just after i closed the hood I heard an older lady's voice behind me say "its beautiful." I turned to look and it was a sweet little old lady. She said, "what kind of car is that?" I said it was a new honda accord. She said its beautiful and that she doesnt think she's ever seen one like that before. My car didn't have anything custom on it. It was just a brand new 2-door accord. She then said hondas make good cars and that her daughter had a honda. I told her that my previous car was a honda too and I had put 500,000 miles on it and it still ran like new when I sold it. She said you must take very good care of your cars. I said thank you, I do.
Then a car pulled up behind her, an acura legend, and she said here's my ride. Then she looked me square in the eye, pointed her finger and said "You're a beautiful person. Don't ever forget that." I stammered a little and said thank you and said she was a beautiful person too but didn't seem to hear me as she got in her car which was driven by an older man and she waved and smiled as they drove away.
I thought it was rather strange for an old lady to take an interest in my car, especially in a very full parking lot full of other new cars and the way that she told me I was a beautiful person really sort of left me speechless and moved. She also had a very bright spark about her, like she was a very joyful, peaceful spirit. What I remember most is how she looked me in the eye and told me I was a beautiful person. Its something I still remember clearly. And as I was driving away, I had this thought that the name of their car "acura legend" can be unscrambled to spell "angel car" with 3 letters leftover...
I think the most interesting part is that this happened only a few months before I fell into a deep, years-long depression where I just wanted to die and thought constantly about taking my own life. A depression that eventually led me to Jesus..
