I can see how they can make you be more appreciative of the fact that we aren't going through that, but do you really need to have a movie made to scare people? I personally think that horror movies don't have a purpose. You watch one, you get nightmares for weeks. Not that I have, but I have heard plenty of stories. Horror movies are a twisted way of making people think that zombies, skeletons, blood, and ghosts are all ok and that there is nothing wrong with gore. There are so many bad things about horror movies. They glorify war, the "undead", and other unhealthy topics. I will never watch one of my own free will.

you need guidelines for these things, for instance, no nudity, or things like that. a good one to suggest is the ' the lady in black; that came out on dvd a few months ago . very clean horror movie fun.

I agree with what you've said here. Its my feeling that much the same if one fills their life or entertainment with these things which are out of glorification of God and cater to the world(our flesh) which we are suppose to be denying and separating ourselves from as a new creation in Christ, it eventually leads to desensitizing one from what is evil.
Similar to kids playing video games with shooting scenes which only makes the thought that much easier for them as they grow without considering the consequnces.
It looks so easy on TV
Played in the mind over and over.......
may make one more skilled at something but not at glorifying God.

More than the training and renewing of the mind as a new creation unto Christ, the entertainment industry caters to entertaining the wild untamed imagination spectrum of our subconcious.
Satan likes to keep people there.
Because it is there, where one grows stagnant in the Lord.
Its more what one fills their life with,
Entertaining self, or serving God.
Doing both is trying to serve two masters.
If one fills their life more with God, there becomes no need for the worlds entertainment.
Were no longer born to this world.
Thank the Lord for that :)

let's not have any fun, whatever we do. you know, there is fantasy and reality. a move is a movie and a video game is a vidoe game. it is junk like this that caused me to walk away from the Church and pretty much God at age 17.

Yes, entertainment is what's the main priority, and not a person who wants to try to live a life that's holy and pleasing to God, and wants to keep their mind free of violence and sex. Forget that our purpose of creation is worship God, and we are to be His ambassadors spreading His message to the unsaved, but lets put all our focus on not being able to 'have fun'. Because, of course, you couldn't possibly have fun any other way than violent and sexual games and movies.
That some people don't believe in playing games and bad movies, totally legit reason to walk away from God.

i said in my other post that you have to have guidelines on what you watch and do.there is nothing wrong with entertainment as long as it is not sinfull. just to be clear, i came back to Christ many years ago. i might not have ever left if i was not told that listing to rock music and watching a movie

i said thet you have to have guidelines on what you watch and do.there is nothing wrong with entertainment as long as it does not cause you to sin. this has to be a personal conviction and not a blanket rule. i have came back to Christ many years ago, by the way.

let me add something to what just posted : if someone spends all there free time watching movies, or gameing, or surfing the web,and not reading the Bible and praying, then that is wrong.if these things cause temptation then the person should stay away from them. but again, this is a personal conviction for people.

I like science fiction. It's strange though that everyone in the entire universe seems to speak English and that there is gravity on space ships.
