The Bible says something about not being blown around by every wind of doctrine that comes by. It also says, somewhere around there, how to avoid it.

There's a song by Twila Paris, called true north. It might help to look that song up and listen to it.

Compare what you hear to the Scriptures. If anything contradicts the Scriptures then avoid it.

Acts 17: 11 Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.

God Bless You :)

Pray for the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation. Ask God for discernment. Spend time with Jesus so that you get to know Him. Spend time in God's word, not just reading but asking God for understanding. If you come across a teaching you are not sure about, ask the Lord to show you. The so-called prosperity message is problematic, for example. I noticed that few, if any, prosperity teachers warn of the dangers of wanting to get rich. (1 Timothy 6:9)

It's our responsibility to discern the truth and not just accept whatever someone has to say. (Colossians 2:8) . If we stay humble and keep close to Jesus, He will protect us. If we do go down the wrong path, He will lead us back. We will learn a good lesson. The great risk for a Christian is spiritual pride. Whoever says that they cannot be deceived is already deceived.

Read the Bible.

Don't go to "got questions", school, mom/dad even the church for all questions. You need to use critical thinking for yourself. Read the Bible everyday.

The government hides the truth. The church as an organization also does.... they set up traditions that are incorrect and not Christian to confuse and control people. Traditions are beautiful if you teach the truth in it, but much of it is gone in it.

I had a dream of an angel before so that's why I say this. Everything in the Bible is correct, but the church is not. Many, many lies are in the "good news" which is no longer good news, but a way to get people excited for death. Never the point of it.

When I was a daydreaming kid back in the day I was closer to understanding the kingdom of heaven than even today. 😆 You will be so surprised when the stories you read as a child are more true than the articles you write as an adult.

Read the Bible. Don't assume bc church or school told you something it's true. Try to read with a blank slate. If you don't understand a Bible character and why they were favored you're missing the theme of it or the understanding of it.

If anyone lacks wisdom, let Him ask God.

I realize by the time someone would come to the realization that they lack wisdom they have spent much time in God's presence. Until then, study and ask God to put someone in your life to come alongside of you to invest their life in yours.

the tools yo seek are described in Deutonomy 13 and 18;

Deu 13:1 If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder,
Deu 13:2 And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them;
Deu 13:3 Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
Deu 13:4 Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.
Deu 13:5 And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which the LORD thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee.
Deu 13:6 If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers;
Deu 13:7 Namely, of the gods of the people which are round about you, nigh unto thee, or far off from thee, from the one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth;
Deu 13:8 Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him:
Deu 13:9 But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people.
Deu 13:10 And thou shalt stone him with stones, that he die; because he hath sought to thrust thee away from the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.
Deu 13:11 And all Israel shall hear, and fear, and shall do no more any such wickedness as this is among you.
Deu 13:12 If thou shalt hear say in one of thy cities, which the LORD thy God hath given thee to dwell there, saying,
Deu 13:13 Certain men, the children of Belial, are gone out from among you, and have withdrawn the inhabitants of their city, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which ye have not known;
Deu 13:14 Then shalt thou enquire, and make search, and ask diligently; and, behold, if it be truth, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought among you;
Deu 13:15 Thou shalt surely smite the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, destroying it utterly, and all that is therein, and the cattle thereof, with the edge of the sword.
Deu 13:16 And thou shalt gather all the spoil of it into the midst of the street thereof, and shalt burn with fire the city, and all the spoil thereof every whit, for the LORD thy God: and it shall be an heap for ever; it shall not be built again.
Deu 13:17 And there shall cleave nought of the cursed thing to thine hand: that the LORD may turn from the fierceness of his anger, and shew thee mercy, and have compassion upon thee, and multiply thee, as he hath sworn unto thy fathers;
Deu 13:18 When thou shalt hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep all his commandments which I command thee this day, to do that which is right in the eyes of the LORD thy God

Deu 18:19 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.
Deu 18:20 But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.
Deu 18:21 And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken?
Deu 18:22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that isthe thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.

Also;
1Jn 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
1Jn 4:2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
1Jn 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

I have used these over and over and it works...

Know that Jesus is the way to eternal life, follow his teachings.

Blessings.

II Timothy 2:15:
Strive diligently to present thyself approved to God, a workman that has not to be ashamed, cutting in a straight line the word of truth.

Philippians 1:9:
And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in full knowledge and all intelligence,
Philippians 1:10:
that ye may judge of and approve the things that are more excellent, in order that ye may be pure and without offence for Christ's day,
Philippians 1:11:
being complete as regards the fruit of righteousness, which [is] by Jesus Christ, to God's glory and praise.
