What I enjoy most is singing and playing guitar in church, but I guess those are privileges.

Hopefully, by how I live my life. When I'm with others, I try to adjust to their traditions and style. If you mean music or prayer, I am a music minister, and my preference is for when the power of God comes down.

That's awesome! I don't just mean music and prayer, though they are obviously pretty good, just using the skills you have with God in mind

this is something i have been pondering for months.
in my church "worship" means singing and music.
fellowship is guys going to a sporting event or doing a chili feed - and talking sports.

somehow this just doesn't seem right.

worship should be, perhaps singing, but it seems like prayer and testimony should compose the greater part of worship.
fellowship ought to be time set aside to share or learn about God and our relationship with him.

i do not see how skill/talent has anything to do with worship.
but then, i could be wrong as well.
as i said, i have been thinking on this but not exactly finding any agreement inside of my church.....

all that you do, do unto the glory of God. This would include work and forgiving others.

When i worship god it would look strange even to a christian because i dont hold back, I sing with all my might and sometimes dance a little. This is when everything else blacks out and it's just me and god

I love music. I am constantly listening to it. I also sing on my worship team and have done so for 10 years. Worship is my life. It keeps me going. I am currently working on my piano playing, and song writing.

What constitutes good worship music? Then what constitutes the best worship music? Why?

I begin by saying good morning to my Lord and then I get up and make my coffee and read the bible and just talk to God about everything. Then through out the day I whisper up I love you.

I tend to think all worship is good worship, if it's praise to God it's ALL good! Rap, Reggae, Jazz loi,
My favorites personally are Jesus Culture, Brooke Fraser, Hillsong, Switchfoot, Chris Tomlin, and quite a few others that have different genres

So you are voting for contemporary and recent at that. I hope more people respond. If I thought 5-10 would do so, I would start a thread. The reason I'm asking here (not trying to start a thread within yours) is that music helps us define what we consider how we worship. Definitely appropriate.

Hi, I tend to think of worship as being more than just songs/music, although that is part of it.

On that point though, I really think that singing/praise is basically a form of prayer to God - just think about the songs we have.
There are songs of thanksgiving, songs of praise, songs of petition, songs seeking forgiveness, even battle songs, and many more. Think of the Psalms they are both songs and prayers.

Worship generally is about giving honour to God, which we can also do through our lifestyle.

I have been fascinated by how our Lord taught the Hebrews through rituals and what happens when they used them. The Pharisees used them wrong and God scolded. I read books about people who used them in worship to find out what effect they had on their life. And I tried some for myself. I am impressed with the cleverness of our Lord for His teaching through rituals, and love some of them.

When I get up I ritually wash my hands, my prayers are for forgiveness and being made clean. I have a cup of coffee and then put on a prayer shawl, sitting under it listening to my Lord. This shawl was woven by Christian hands with prayer, it is of wool, it has been blessed. It seems to shut out the physical world so I am alone with my Lord and Savior. My breakfast is of whole grains as close to just how God created them as I can get. I am aware of God’s instruction to be pure in thought, word and deed as I eat.

I am often scolded when some people find out I use rituals, but I feel content with them and helped by them when I speak to my Lord about it.
