Blain, I agree with Willie-T that the solution would be to fix the door ASAP so Sandy will feel safe again. I hope and pray in Jesus' name that you get this solved so you get to keep the kittycat.

And by the way Pumicestone, most people are extremely blessed by their pets and love them dearly. Your comment about Sandy being "just a cat" is in no way sympathetic or merciful toward Blain, who posted that Sandy is his baby.

You don't want her living in constant fear, Blain. And it's not fair to her to keep her isolated. As much as you love her, I think she would do alot better in a home where SHE is the ONLY cat.. She doesn't have a good quality of life right now, with the other cats constantly terrorizing her.. :(

Maybe a friend who lives nearby could keep the kitty for Blain and he could visit her often. And eventually, if Blain moves to another place he can get Sandy back again. :)

She is fixed and has been declawed however the other cats while I don't know if they are fixed they are certainly not de clawed and sandy already had been injured from them but no one listens to me and they act as if it's all sandies fault but I have seen these others cats chase her attack her and purposely annoy her but no sandy is ther problem the other cats are innocent they wouldn't hurt a fly, tell that to sandies wound above her eye

Well it sounds like the other kitties need a good swat.Maybe a little scare would keep them away.

There's a big difference between a kid and a crazy cat.

I wonder if being kept indoors 24/7 might be contributing to its 'mental health' issues ? It's hardly 'natural'.
On the other hand, you can't let these predators roam outside to torture and slaughter native wildlife at will.

She refuses to leave my room for fear of the other cats but sadly since the door is broken the cats come in whenever they please and the like to mess with her
Fix the bedroom door?

Do you have something up high that she can get on? Cats that are not comfortable with their surroundings like to get up on a high perch, shelf, etc. If you can possibly find a way for her to get up off the floor it could help. But honestly keeping the other cats away from her is the best answer. They are invading her territory and she has no claws to defend herself.

Pumicestone, that's about three condescending comments you've left this morning alone. I'm going to tell you one last time that I will report you for deliberately offending and provoking if I see one more insensitive comment to people who are sincerely hurting.

is she very old? we have a cat who is very anxious by nature and scared of the slightest things, and he even did a bit of what you're describing when he was younger. but he's about 3-4 years old now, and we've taken care to try to make him feel safe all this time, and he's a lot more social & less afraid now. whenever there is thunder, he'll be under the bed for a minimum of 2 hours lol, but he really is a lot better than what he was at first.
maybe just with time & attention Sandy will calm down.

if it were me, i'd be working on those other cats to convince them to lay off of her. every time they try to attack her i'd chase them off and scold them, and have plenty of "little meows" with them about being friends, and how everyone in the house is family & they need to learn to get along. you've got to let the antagonizer know their behavior is wrong, but you've got to do it when they're antagonizing, and not later, so they understand what's got you upset.. you know, in a way that's not confusing to them, and not mean, but still firm. i've got a couple of outside cats that spat sometimes, because one had lived here for years before the other one moved in with us, and he's resentful over sharing his space, and i grab a broom and stick it between them whenever there are grrs developing. the one that's usually starting the trouble now backs off as soon as he sees the broom, and it hardly ever happens anymore, only when he's grumpy about something else and taking it out on the other guy. they've actually become friends, for the most part :)

they probably pick on her because she's been declawed and can't really fight back -- i really hate declawing; it's absolutely terrible thing to do to a cat. she's going to end up being a biter now because she doesn't have any defense in her paws.

the real solution is going to be her & those other cats getting along better, so she feels safe around them, and they stop antagonizing her. i bet she's scared to bits because she can't whack them back when they come at her =\
you gotta work on getting those other cats to accept her, & her feeling more accepted and safe.

it'll probably take a long time, but it's not at all impossible. cats are smart, they understand more than some people give them credit for. and they will listen to you & learn, if you treat them like actual living creatures with minds of their own.

This is just plain rude and uncalled for. Have some compassion and common sense. If you can't say anything nice or constructive here, then maybe you ought not to comment at all.

By the way I hear that FISH make great bait for crab pots. ;)

Whoa! Kind of frightening how much she looks like Bo. (Bo would have been so insulted to be compared to a girl. lol) Right down to the white tip on her paw. Only difference (besides gender) is Bo had a white patch under his chin, and white on his belly that, when you stretched him out to look at it, looked like a white bikini, (which might explain why he was sensitive to being considered a girl. I kept showing everyone his white bikini. lol)

I'm so glad she is well and she gets to keep you. I was there when Bo's birth sack was removed. He died on my lap years and years later. (And, as his final catlike action, he then peed on my lap. lol) Some pets we get are best assumed as family, not merely pets. I'm so happy Sandy stays!

DO NOT put her on craig's list.. that place is awful.. If you have to, give her to someone you know and trust.. I've heard alotta creepy things about people on CL..
