Actually... in our house the rats are renting the roof but strangely they don't pay rent.... lol. The worst thing is there is a broken part in our ceiling where the rats come out from. At night i just hear running and running like they are havinf a marathon or something. Lol
BTW, if you can get to that hole they come in through, fill it with steal wool. Rodents won't chew through metal. (I had steel wool galore in the basement, waiting to figure out how they're getting in. Never could find the hole, so tossed the wool. lol)

Oh my...It may not be the moth balls and peppermint oil...

This house was foreclosed. I think it set vacant for about 6 month to a year before I bought it. I got it for really cheap and so I did a total remodel on it.

So I guess mice figure there is no food here and now they have no way in...so I guess they don't want to deal with the stinky moth balls to try to chew their way in here to find out...lol So that may be why my neighbors ended up with the mice. OOOPsie....:)
Yup, that's it. The mice are after grains and grease. (For some reason our mice like to bite through canola oil containers, if they're made out of plastic. What a mess that was, when we needed some oil.) If there is nothing to eat, they leave. That's why I think the mice vacated the neighbor's house. No one there, so nothing to eat. lol

First time I ever heard a rodent in our ceiling, I thought it was squirrels playing tag. My bedroom ceiling, so I slept in my comfie chair in the living room. Had to face that bedroom eventually.

All these years later, I figured out it wasn't squirrels. It was mice. They're very loud and squealy in attack mode up there. (I believe above our ceiling tile has a name -- The Battle of the Bulge. Huge war ground up there. lol)
Hahahaha. Lol. Squirrels playing tag. Haha. Would love to see that. Lol
