is it wrong to try to grow spiritually too fast?

I also constantly research things like spiritual gifts and fruits for example. I also witness to almost everyone I meet. I was curious can we try to grow faster than God wants us to. In other words is it considered wrong to press fervently to seek Him and grow quickly. Should we slow down and follow His pace. Does it matter? We don't have anymore ability to grow spiritually than we had the ability to grow physically.

God only lets us grow at the pace he allows us to grow. We can push and push but if God says no its no. Theres no growing too fast. Its all at the pace God sets for each individual

I think people fail to realize that growth is often the result of pain and suffering.
