Hi, we put the christmas decorations up at work today - but we could only put them in certain places due to health and safety risks.

It made me think about santa - does he realise that he breaks every health and safety rule going.

1) Flying without submitting a scheduled route and taking off without flight clearance.
2) Big sack in his open sleigh with the potential for presents to fall off mid flight.
3) Flying low across roofs tops especially in high occupancy areas.
4) Landing on roof tops without a risk assessment or obtaining the load bearing estimate of the roofs.
5) Parking the sleigh on roofs and leaving it alone tethered to the reindeer.
6) Actually sliding down chimneys without a survey as to how narrow it is and if there may be a lit fire at the bottom.
7) Spreading dirty footprints across the house.
8) Carrying a huge sack of toys with no lifting aids.
9) Drinking alcohol at each house - while still doing all of the above at each house along the way.
10) Feeding carrots to the reindeer who will go on to leave their own deposits on the top of each roof.

Phew - I wonder if Santa has any idea of the risks he takes each year. :D

Does Santa visit your house each year?

I would not like it if he sits on me either. And if he ever got stuck in the chimney, we would suffer from asphixiation.

No I'm serious. Just think of what poor Santa does every year....;)

Funny story one year my brother and his wife got all sorts of presents for their daughter who was 7.
These included a games console and a doll. On the console they put a note from Santa.
On the doll and other gifts they put from mum and dad.

On Christmas day she opened her presents then started sulking.

When asked why she was unhappy she said "how come you only got me a doll etc, but Santa got me a games console, why did you not get me more!
