Ok, just to let you know up front. I AM (was) a serious crafter, artist, etc... I love working with my hands no matter what it is (except cleaning lol).

Lately however, I just don't feel like doing ANYTHING.
It's been a month or so since I did a painting. It's been an even longer while since I've made anything with quiLLing (a paper craft). I haven't even finished making an eagle (from card stock) I had been working on; and there's a few paintings I started and never finished. I've even stopped baking, just to bake, as I did. WHAT IS UP WITH THAT?!

Yea, I thought that too... but I don't think I am really... (depressed). It's just me. I'll be 72 next week. You'd think I would be still interested in doing and going. I have lost much of my leg strength over the past 20 years since I got ill from "tired leg syndrome". Ever since then, I've given up walking the long distances I used to walk. I fall a lot more now from imbalance (no help from the doctors there, of course)...

Ok I'm done venting. your turn. "sock it to me".

Why not get some little dumbbells, turn on some motivating music with a, say 135-140 beat per minute beat, and work out to the beat of the music? For example, for your legs, you could get a chair, stand up and sit down to the beat of the music. Try holding on to your chair and doing a few lunges. You can also walk to the beat of the music. You can download a free metronome from the App store. Btw, I’m 72, too.

Christians ALWAYS have Jesus for help. faith & trust never die. did you know a negative defeatist attitude can obviate healing? also, God may have a different plan for you now & the Holy Spirit is telling you. everyone from adam & eve can say, "i used to do this & that" or "i can't do this anymore". there's a cure for everything & everyone. do your best & never give up. blessings to you.

I am with you brother, and have experience many of the same things. Getting old ain't for the weak.

I too have difficulty with "Bricks and Mortar." Based on a cursory look at your website (I will go back and read it in depth) we have also walked a similar path in a search for truth.

There are no words of comfort I can give, but I have found something unexpected. The older and more isolated I become, the more God has challenged me to seek his truth. I feel Him pushing me harder and harder toward some end I cannot see nor even understand. Therein I find some comfort. Maybe you have too.

Going by feelings is unwise. I was sick with a potentially fatal illness about 3-1/2 years ago. I've had a minor heart problem for a while longer. After I retired, I became less active. A medical condition stopped me swimming. So I went downhill physically. I bought a bike. The first few rides were hell. Now I ride for about an hour 3 times a week. I ride whether I feel like it or not. Many times I look at the trees moving in the wind and think I could justify not going. Unless the wind is really strong, or it raining, I go. Some days its enjoyable, mostly its still hard work.

Why put myself through this? I got married October 2022. My wife is a little frail. I need strength and stamina to help her. I also have a "life wish". I'm 72 but I'm far from done with life. There is much to do. So I am doing what I don't especially feel like doing.

Our will follows our desire. I desire to be fit and well. So bike riding is it. If we have no desires, which is one symptom of depression, we will lose interest in life itself. That leads to premature death. We can ask God to establish the desires of out heart according to His will. When He puts those desires in our hearts, we will be motivated to do those things.

I have the exercise belty thingys.... I guess I just need motivation. :/ My hubby is lousy at motivating me to do anything... cuz he's not either. :(

What are these belty things? hmm…. Tell you what… Download this song from iTunes onto your phone (just an example). I’ve just metronomed it and it’s about 127 beats per minute (hopefully, a nice walking beat for you). Walk out your front door and walk to the beat of the song. Listen to the lyrics and let the music motivate your steps. I’m a racewalker and have been walking since I was about 40. I can get up to 170 bpm with the right music, lol. Just try it, ‘kay?

You owe somebody something? Did you make a promise to anybody to keep painting or crafting or anything?

If you wanna, do. If you don't wanna, don't. Don't gotta feel guilty about not wanting to any more.

I haven't made a new soundtrack for a song I want to sing for years. I don't have any reason to make one right now, as there is nowhere I can sing it at the moment anyway. If I have a reason to want to make another one, I still have the virtual instruments to do it.

I DO wish i could still bike to w*rk though. I can't because for the last couple years I haven't had time to. And my weight is starting to creep up on me again. But someday when Grandma dies and I am not watching her, I'll have time to. I'm... not really in a hurry for that.
