GALATIANS 2:20

New Living Translation

My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Idolatry

THERE Seems a desire to want things, that never will satisfy, Lust is one, if you lust after one thing, another one will become attracting, and it is not only pertaining to people. { This might be a bit long, but in the Old, and New Testaments, much is told, about Idols. It is worth taking the time to read. "Get Wisdom, she is life to you.}

When Anything or Anybody Gets What God Alone Deserves

Ex 20:3-4 (NIV) "You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below."
God destroys idols; He is the great iconoclast. Even good things can become idols, and while reveling and boasting seem good at the time, it is a grave disservice to idolize anything or anybody. The result is God's wrath, on you and the idol. God will not be eclipsed.
2 Ki 18:3-4 (Amp) Hezekiah did right in the sight of the Lord... He broke in pieces the bronze serpent that Moses had made, for until then the Israelites had burned incense to it; but he called it Nehushtan [a brazen trifle].
James 4:5 (Jer) Surely you don't think the Scripture is wrong when it says: the spirit which He sent to live in us wants us for himself alone?
The Lust For Idols--A Matter of The Heart

James 4:3-4 (Phi) You don't get what you want because you don't ask God for it. And when you do ask he doesn't give it to you, for you ask in quite the wrong spirit--you only want to satisfy your own desires. You are like unfaithful wives, never realizing that to be the world's lover means becoming the enemy of God! Anyone who chooses to be the world's friend is thereby making himself God's enemy.
Col 3:5-6 (Jer) That is why you must kill everything in you that belongs only to earthly life: fornication, impurity, guilty passion, evil desires and especially greed, which is the same thing as worshipping a false god. All this sort of behavior makes God angry. (Eph 5:5)
Eze 6:8-9 (NIV) "...How I have been grieved by their adulterous hearts, which have turned away from me, and by their eyes, which have lusted after their idols. They will loathe themselves for the evil they have done and for all their detestable practices."
Deut 29:18 (NIV) Make sure there is no man or woman, clan or tribe among you today whose heart turns away from the Lord our God to go and worship the gods of those nations; make sure there is no root among you that produces such bitter poison. (See also through verse 29.)
But Everyone Else Is Doing It...

2 Ki 17:15 (NIV) They rejected his decrees and the covenant he had made with their fathers and the warnings he had given them. They followed worthless idols and themselves became worthless. They imitated the nations around them although the Lord had ordered them, "Do not do as they do," and they did the things the Lord had forbidden them to do.
2 Ki 17:40-41 (NIV) They would not listen, however, but persisted in their former practices. Even while these people were worshipping the Lord, they were serving their idols. To this day their children and grandchildren continue to do as their fathers did.
1 Cor 10:7 (NIV) Do not be idolaters, as some of them were; as it is written: "The people sat down to eat and drink and got up to indulge in pagan revelry."
Public Image--Making Idols Of Men

1 Sam 15:23 (NIV) For rebellion is like the sin of divination, and arrogance like the evil of idolatry.
Acts 8:9 (NIV) Now for some time a man named Simon had practiced sorcery in the city and amazed all the people of Samaria. He boasted that he was someone great...
A.W. Tozer: "Christ calls men to carry a cross; we call them to have fun in His name. He calls them to forsake the world; we assure them that if they but accept Jesus the world is their oyster. He calls them to suffer; we call them to enjoy all the bourgeois comforts modern civilization affords. He calls them to self-abnegation and death; we call them to spread out like green bay trees or perchance even to become stars in a pitiful fifth-rate religious zodiac."
Eze 8:12 (NIV) He said to me, "Son of man, have you seen what the elders of the house of Israel are doing in the darkness, each at the shrine of his own idol?"
2 Pet 2:18 (NIV) For they mouth empty, boastful words and, by appealing to the lustful desires of sinful human nature, they entice people who are just escaping from those who live in error.
1 Cor 12:1-2 (NIV) ...I do not wish you to be ignorant... somehow or other you were influenced and led astray to dumb idols.
Isa 41:29 (NIV) "See, they are all false! Their deeds amount to nothing; their images are but wind and confusion."
Jer 2:5 (NIV) This is what the Lord says: "What fault did your fathers find in me, that they strayed so far from me? They followed worthless idols and became worthless themselves."
Ps 97:7 (NIV) All who worship images are put to shame, those who boast in idols...
1 Sam 12:21 (NIV) Do not turn away after useless idols. They can do you no good, nor can they rescue you, because they are useless.
Isa 57:12-13 (NIV) "I will expose your righteousness and your works, and they will not benefit you. When you cry out for help, let your collection [of idols] save you! The wind will carry all of them off, a mere breath will blow them away. But the man who makes me his refuge will inherit the land and possess my holy mountain."
Isa 42:8 (NIV) "I am the Lord; that is my name! I will not give my glory to another or my praise to idols."
Do We Take Idolatry As Seriously As God?

Eze 6:4-6 (NIV) "... I will slay your people in front of your idols. I will lay the dead bodies of the Israelites in front of their idols, and I will scatter your bones around your altars... your idols smashed and ruined, your incense altars broken down, and what you have made wiped out."
1 Cor 6:9-10 (NIV) Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy... (Rom 1:23-25)
Eph 5:5 (NIV) For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person--such a man is an idolater--has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
Spiritual Adultery

Isa 57:5-8 (NIV) "You burn with lust among the oaks and under every spreading tree... The idols... are your portion; they, they are your lot... You have made your bed on a high and lofty hill... Behind your doors and your doorposts you have put your pagan symbols. Forsaking me, you uncovered your bed, you climbed into it and opened it wide..."
Eze 23:7,29-30 (NIV) She gave herself as a prostitute... and defiled herself with all the idols of everyone she lusted after... They will deal with you in hatred and take away everything you have worked for. They will leave you naked and bare, and the shame of your prostitution will be exposed. Your lewdness and promiscuity have brought this upon you, because you lusted after the nations and defiled yourself with their idols.
Isa 57:10-11 (NIV) "You were wearied by all your ways, but you would not say, 'It is hopeless.' You found renewal of your strength, and so you did not faint. Whom have you so dreaded and feared that you have been false to me, and have neither remembered me nor pondered this in your hearts? Is it not because I have long been silent that you do not fear me?"
Ezekiel is Grabbed By The Hair and Shown "Inside" The Temple Of God

Eze 8:5-6 (NIV) ..."Son of man, look toward the north." So I looked, and in the entrance north of the gate of the altar I saw this idol of jealousy. And he said to me, "Son of man, do you see what they are doing--the utterly detestable things the house of Israel is doing here, things that will drive me far from my sanctuary? But you will see things that are even more detestable."
Eze 8:5:7-10 (NIV) Then he brought me to the entrance to the court. I looked, and I saw a hole in the wall. He said to me, "Son of man, now dig into the wall." So I dug into the wall and saw a doorway there. And he said to me, "Go in and see the wicked and detestable things they are doing here." So I went in and looked, and I saw portrayed all over the walls all kinds of crawling things and detestable animals and all the idols of the house of Israel.
Eze 8:12,15 (NIV) He said to me, "Son of man, have you seen what the elders of the house of Israel are doing in the darkness, each at the shrine of his own idol? They say, 'The Lord does not see us...'" He said to me, "Do you see this, son of man? You will see things that are even more detestable than this."
Eze 8:16-18 (NIV) He then brought me into the inner court of the house of the Lord, and there at the entrance to the temple, between the portico and the altar, were about twenty-five men. With their backs toward the temple of the Lord and their faces toward the east, they were bowing down to the sun in the east. He said to me, "Have you seen this, son of man? Is it a trivial matter for the house of Judah to do the detestable things they are doing here?... Look at them putting the branch to their nose! [witchcraft] Therefore I will deal with them in anger; I will not look on them with pity or spare them. Although they shout in my ears, I will not listen to them."
Eze 9:1-2 (NIV) Then I heard him call out in a loud voice, "Bring the guards of the city here, each with a weapon in his hand." And I saw six men coming from the direction of the upper gate, which faces north, each with a deadly weapon in his hand. With them was a man clothed in linen who had a writing kit at his side. They came in and stood beside the bronze altar.
Eze 9:3-4 (NIV) Now the glory of the God of Israel went up from above the cherubim, where it had been, and moved to the threshold of the temple. Then the Lord called to the man clothed in linen who had the writing kit at his side and said to him, "Go throughout the city of Jerusalem and put a mark on the foreheads of those who grieve and lament over all the detestable things that are done in it."
Would You Qualify For This "Mark" In God's "Temple" Today?

Eze 9:5-7 (NIV) As I listened, he said to the others, "Follow him through the city and kill, without showing pity or compassion. Slaughter old men, young men and maidens, women and children, but do not touch anyone who has the mark. Begin at my sanctuary." So they began with the elders who were in front of the temple. Then he said to them, "Defile the temple and fill the courts with the slain. Go!" So they went out and began killing throughout the city.
Eze 9:8-11 (NIV) While they were killing and I was left alone, I fell facedown, crying out, "Ah, Sovereign Lord! Are you going to destroy the entire remnant... in this outpouring of your wrath...?" He answered me, "The sin of the house of Israel and Judah is exceedingly great... So I will not look on them with pity or spare them, but I will bring down on their own heads what they have done." Then the man in linenwith the writing kit at his side brought back word, saying, "I have done as you commanded."
2 Cor 6:16 (NIV) What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people."
James 4:5 (NIV) ...the spirit he caused to live in us envies intensely...
Repent Or Perish--A Greater Judgement Is Coming

A.W. Tozer: "Grace will save a man... but it will not save him and his idol."
Jonah 2:8 (NIV) "Those who cling to worthless idols forfeit the grace that could be theirs."

1Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
2And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
3And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
4Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
5Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
6Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
7Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
8Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
9For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
10But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
11When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
12For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
13And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.

Life is like a butterfly.
If you don't come out of the cocoon, you will never fly, and feel being free.

If a chick pokes it's head out of the broken shell,
the rain might fall, and the wind might blow, and he might retreat back inside.
He will never learn how to walk, will starve, and die.

Life was made for us not to be in a cage, stagnant, but life is a challenge, be what God intended you to be,
Take the challenge of life, it will never leave you, only you make that choice to leave it.

You can't buy love.
Even with a wife and husband, It needs to be Christ centered. Once someone was trying to pick me up, I said, well I'm married, he said, he could take care of that. Listen, lust is one of the unrightous fruits, just as murder, are. Lust starts in the mind, and manifests itself in actions. Don't be deceived. What started in the garden , never ended. Until the end will come, and some will be taken to be with the Lord, and others will be taken into hell. It is true. Arrogance is what threw the arc angel out, that was by God's side. He is now called the devil, evil, and nothing else.
Esau was a man, a hunter, and he sold his father's blessings birthrights for a bowl of stew.
He had a big appetite of the flesh, that he could not handle, nor control. For food. For sex.
Same thing, an appetite of the flesh. Samson had his eyes googed out, because as he had his head on her lap, she enticed him into telling her his secret, why he was so stronge, and as he fell asleep in her embrace, he woke up to a cruel joke, her yelling, the philistines, are upon you, and they cut his hair, he lost his strength, and was made as an ox to pull a wagon, had his eyes googed out. Lust is not love. It is evil, it is not love and superficial stuff.

[h=1]Be sure your sin will find you out[/h]“But if you will not do so, behold, you have sinned against the LORD, and be sure your sin will find you out. Numbers 32:23
When I first read this verse it was a frightening experience for me I mean, my hidden sin in my life is seen… by who ? surely nobody knows… who can read my thought mind ? who can look at my heart ? over and over I would ask this… by who ? nobody knows but me “RIGHT” I couldn’t get this verse out of my mind. be sure your sin will find you out.
Ecclesiastes 12:14 For God will bring every act to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil
Matthew 10:26 “Therefore do not fear them, for there is nothing concealed that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known.
1 Corinthians 4:5 Therefore do not go on passing judgment before the time, but wait until the Lord comes who will both bring to light the things hidden in the darkness and disclose the motives of men’s hearts; and then each man’s praise will come to him from God.
Luke 8:17 “For nothing is hidden that will not become evident, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light.
Nobody knows but me “RIGHT” If you’re not sure who sees by now
Jeremiah 23:23-24 “Am I a God who is near,” declares the LORD, “And not a God far off? “Can a man hide himself in hiding places So I do not see him?” declares the LORD. “Do I not fill the heavens and the earth?” declares the LORD.
Psalm 139:7 Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence?
The answer is nowhere can we go, He sees all thing hidden and brings them to light. We as Christians are not to think of hidden sins as less serious and even more respectable than the seen sin. Jesus taught differently in the Sermon on the Mount.
Matthew 5:21-22 “You have heard that the ancients were told, ‘YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT MURDER’ and ‘Whoever commits murder shall be liable to the court.’22 “But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother shall be guilty before the court; and whoever says to his brother, ‘You good-for-nothing,’ shall be guilty before the supreme court; and whoever says, ‘You fool,’ shall be guilty enough to go into the fiery hell.
Matthew 5:28 but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
What did this all teach me… that I was a “BIG” Hypocrite, putting on this mask of holiness as I was keeping sin in the deep parts of my mind and heart.
John MacArthur comment
Those who sin secretly actually intensify their guilt, because they add the sin of hypocrisy to their offense. Hypocrisy is a grave sin in its own right. It also produces an especially debilitating kind of guilt, because by definition hypocrisy entails the concealing of sin. And the only remedy for any kind of sin involves uncovering our guilt through sincere confession. Hypocrisy therefore permeates the soul with a predisposition against genuine repentance. That is why Jesus referred to hypocrisy as “the leaven of the Pharisees” (Luke 12:1).
Hypocrisy also works directly against the conscience. There’s no way to be hypocritical without searing the conscience. So hypocrisy inevitably makes way for the most vile, soul-coloring, character-damaging secret sins. Thus hypocrisy compounds itself, just like leaven. Beware that sort of leaven. No matter who suggests to you that appearances are everything, don’t buy that lie.
As a matter of fact, your secret life is the real litmus test of your character: “As he thinks within himself, so he is” (Prov. 23:7). Do you want to know who you really are? Take a hard look at your private life–especially your innermost thoughts. Gaze into the mirror of God’s Word, and allow it to disclose and correct the real thoughts and motives of your heart.
Confess your sin… your thought mind- your angry… the secret sin that nobody knows…well just God and stop trying to cover them up with hypocrisy… cover then up with the blood of the Lamb and be free. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Hebrew 12:1-2 Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also toldyou in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 24And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

[h=3]James 1:14-15 [/h]
But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death.

Do you want to know what I think about this verse.
{ Enticed, seduced, tempted,}
Your own desires, we all desire. Is it all from the right source, as from a rightfull way of gain, or will it lead to a life of pain.
There is a difference, when the scriptures talk about, self control, as one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit.
People want things, and go and try to get them, from Lust.
A car they see, they steal, another's wife, to reel in in lust.
A need that we need something, but are not willing to find out, what will be the price to pay, if it is not given to us as a blessing from God.
Most things in life are blessings.
The bible says that the devil, is a thief, he comes to rob, steal, and destroy, he does not bless our lives.
Lust the opposite of Love.
A strong desire for something, and something that that very person is not capable of having.
God said, "A wife is a gift from the Lord." So are children.
How do you treat a treasured gift, with love, honor and respect, it's easy to say this about a car, or phone, but a life, it's not the same, but God says, he gives us gifts.
Lust is like a pyton, it twists around you, because you needed it, and it dosn't let go, because it is like an infection, like a infected appendix, that will burst, and destroy or maybe kill you.
The above verse says that.
What people see and feel that they want from or in another, is something that is missing in their spirit.
If the spirit gets repaired, the mind will also.
Love is Powerfull,
Lust is a stronghold, that holds you, not in a loving embrace, but with a brace of cast iron, a strength that has over taken you, like a stronghold, robbed you, because of a weakness.
Why are so many crying out for help in unclean rightousous images.
It has become a stronghold.
It will only break it's hold, it's chains, in Jesus name.
I pray for real love to come into people's lives.
For that love to stay, and mature with the fruits of the spirit.
Something is missing in the spirit of man, who wants love, but takes lust instead.
It is he is broke
Broken,
Poor,
mislead of the truth, into a bunch of enticing lies,
To those who are not married, talk to those who are.
Don't lust.
It is fool's gold,
It is not "us"
Look to the Lord.
He has ears to hear
and understands.
People are afraid to get married, because of fear.
The bible says, "perfect love casts out fear."
Don't lust.
Trust him.
He gives us the desires of our hearts, when we are in him, and he dosn't want us to fullfill the desires of the flesh, which is a passing thing.
Love never ends.
Lust will break you, it is a fantasy, a joke, and you will become broke, broken
Love will make you.
Into a man or women, it is a challenge.
GRow into the fruits of the HOly Spirit, and out of the baby clothing.

[h=1]Proverbs 6:27[/h]
“Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned?”

There's a lot of versions on this.
Some say on your clothes, but your soul, will be burnt.
Don't you know that "don't play with fire."
The spirit will burn, and it is not a pleasant sight to see, someone who had burns.
But to live with this inside of you, is different.
It is a bondage, of ugliness, and this scripture relates to lust.
Only Christ can heal, and restore.
Those who have taken lust into their bosoms, have taken a poison.
There is a conterfeit to everything that God has created.
Lust is not Love.
Satan pours it into people's minds, to destroy, remember Jesus died, rose, and is the Son of God.
There was a reason for this.
To set us free, to break bondage's, and strongholds.

To end this;
The website that all those names were exposed, and some killed themselves, because of the lust, it is not from God, it is a bondage, a stronghold, that keeps you it's prisoner, Love will never do that, Love sets free.
So many executives have killed themselves, with money, homes, jobs, wifes, and children, because of it.
They got burned.
It is something a human is not capable of throwing off, handling, and living with.
It is a destructive factor, an infection of the Spirit, that eventually will burst and kill.

SAUL was full of jealousy over David! And that Jealousy turned into Hatred!Eventually however, God judged Saul for he tried to Stop David, hinder David, and destroy David whom God had Chosen, prepared, trained Up!!!But as GOD WOULD HAVE IT, Saul’s little evil plan never worked, because God had HIS hand on DAVID. God had a Greater purpose for David. A Greater plan for David!! (2 Samuel 5-6)Many of you are also Hated in the same way. But you Be Encouraged!!NO ONE FIGHTS AGAINST GOD & WINS!!

Now a a bit of my words :)

There's a lot to say on this topic.
Since this is not the bible discussion forum, but to post bible verses.
This will be brief :)
Many of us are blessed. Many have what many wish they had. Families, children, cat's and even a dog, but sometimes we take these blessings for granted, or put our selfish desires before others.
They spit on Jesus, and if you don't like these words, you might spit them out, and hate them.
What a person sows, is what they will reap.
In life, many wished, they had not chosen the wrong choices to make.
Next; on what happened to a King who was Jealous.

King David, King Nebuchanezzer, and maybe others, even as a "king" has no power
over God's Final say, which is;
You will reap, what you sow.
Will post what happened to David's family, and how his son's were killed, murdered, daughter raped, and will post it, in a bit.
David repented, as in the previous post, Saul wanted to kill him, but he was called, to rule, as a King over Israel.
Many husbands are called to rule, or lead, their families, but choose another route.
He repented, God forgave him, and does us, but we live with our consequences.

David lusted after another man's wife, bathseba, and ordered her husband killed.
He first said, in his mind
HE'S DEAD

Then his words manifested into power, as the bible said, life and death, are in the power of our words.
He thought,
He said,
He did.
Not even a King as he was, Filthy Rich, was able to stop what he started.

His daughter was raped,
His son died,
another son murdered,
he was reaping death.
We sometimes are given another chance, like think twice,
before you think what your doing is for you benefit, or the destruction
of other's lives.
"He said, he wanted him dead, her husband, so his words brought death into his own house.
He wanted, he lusted, he thought he had power, and his own
son's were murdered.
He cursed his own family,
For Lust.
Something that he had to live for the rest of his life.

Another topic,
The sins of the Father's are handed down to their children.

Luke 1:41

And it came to pass, that when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost.

:) Praise You Jesus!
