Last night I asked God to show me where in sin I may be. To make sure I am staying the course. I asked Him to show me a picture and a picture of how I must be.

So I had a lucid dream (more real than a normal dream) about not just a normal one but one inside of another. I have had many lucid dreams, but only a few where one was inside of another. I did not feel evil, like I used to before salvation, but I don't think this was of God, but perhaps God's allowance Let me explain:

In the dream I was sleeping on my bed, in my small travel trailer, and woke up to find another man in the hall way, A tall, balded guy. First thought was this was my roommate. He walks toward the front living room. I follow him there and the room was cleaned up from all the storage boxes I have there, and some two others were there, squatting down in front of some boxes, but not him. Then I realize I am dreaming this and get very frustrated. I start banging my forehead on the refrigerator to wake up, yelling "wake up". It seemed like forever, but then I found myself back in bed having wakened up. I start looking around and see a strange hand holding the doorway frame, then a head peeks from around the frame to look at me. It was this same man from the first scene. The lighting was darker than the first instance. I quickly wanted to get a look at this mans face to see who he was, and when I tried to grab the hand and look around the frame into the bathroom, he adamantly shy'ed away to hide himself and pulled back his hand. I then moved back into sleep position on the bed and realized I was still dreaming. Again, I yelled "wake up, wake up". Then I woke up for real and found myself in this reality.

The thing is, God has taught me from years past about dreams, how demons, angels, God, us have the ability to manufacture dreams. From the time of Adam, Adams sin sort of sliced the top cover off of our spiritual factory cylinders that make our dreams and other spiritual matters. So giving access to most everything spiritual within us. Another example is our spiritual factory cylinder of emotions. No lid on that, and why we can not trust our emotions. Anyhow, so what was going on with me, was this demon (I suppose) created a dream for me, and inside that dream was watching me around the door frame, then created another dream for a scenario or purpose to watch what I would do.

The thing is, this was not an angel or from God, my question why. Am I in sin to where God is not communing with me, but the evil side? Very disturbing. I want to always be in communion with Jesus. That is another thing I prayed about. Show me a picture of what that looks like so I can follow a communing relationship. "Get me into or teach me Lord". Maybe it was a gift to show me what is capable in dreams, and no direct answer from God. Maybe I am still OK with God. I know now my family has a generation curse on it to which I am part of, and think I must live a life to play it out, but in a holy life. Did I pray to the evil world? Just more questions.

I just wanted to put this out there to hear from you all on what you think.

Not sure. I used to lucid dream, so I asked God to close that door (it was more tied to the occult for me.) So I don't really get lucid dreams anymore, but if I do I usually give it to God the moment I realize I am dreaming, and I'll usually fall back asleep without problems.

I believe sin can give a foothold to the enemy in many ways, but I don't know if your lucid dreaming is caused by sin or not. You can renounce all sin, and if you've ever dabbled in the occult, something as simple as reading your horoscope, then renounce that too. Then ask God to close that door, and to protect you from anything that is not of Him while you're sleeping.

Am I in sin to where God is not communing with me, but the evil side? Very disturbing. I want to always be in communion with Jesus. That is another thing I prayed about. Show me a picture of what that looks like so I can follow a communing relationship. "Get me into or teach me Lord". If you've accepted Jesus Christ you don't have to worry about generational curses. Continue living a life of surrender to the Lord, and you'll be fine. The devil tries to scare people by making them think they're evil, but don't believe that lie, if you've accepted Christ, you are a child of God.

It's true that the devil can manufacture dreams, and it's true God can speak through dreams. But that does not necessarily mean that God is showing you where you may be in sin through this or any other dream. See if you can figure out where the symbols came from. Usually, dreams are just your mind trying to arrange the last day's input into subconscious symbols while you sleep. My experience is that God speaks in ways that get His message through; He understands us better than we understand ourselves. God can speak through your own thoughts in prayer, through the Bible, through friends, through daily events. Those ways are much more reliable, at least for me, than are dreams.

I agree with what LibertyGirl posted. I think there may be even more danger in your worrying so much about sin. The worry might have even been what made you cause the dream for yourself If you have given your life to Jesus, He will work it out. You want to follow Him, focus on that, and let Him choose what you need to fix and when to fix it. He is working on getting you completely free of that generational curse; in fact, He may have you completely free already.

I was saved in 2007. God has showed me a lot about myself, my sin, disabilities, gifts
