I live in the south. any time many folks from up north hear a southern accent they think we are ignorant rednecks and we are all racist and backward.
same here.
some people have been surprised to see i'm well educated and have good teeth, but i do walk around barefoot as much as i can, enjoy bluegrass and get my corn in a jar. not all my corn; i prefer it off the cob & uncooked - much sweeter that way!

I live in New Mexico and all I ever hear is, Are you Mexican? Are you illegal? Can you speak Spanish? What about the cartel? Are you sure that is a state?

I feel you South Africa...
I've been in New Mexico a few times. Everybody seems to have those tile roofs, or whatever you call them.

We drove down to New Orleans from Iowa a couple of times when I was in college. What I remember was how warm and sunny it was, while there was still snow on the ground back home.

I used to enjoy eating frozen peas (while they were still frozen).

Hey Guys!!!
So I live in South Africa and a lot of the things that I know about other countries, I learn from the Media.
So I've heard of people going to other countries and how the people in those countries have asked them:
Why are you white if you're from South Africa???!!
Do you have lions in your backyard?
Do you ride on elephants to school?
Have you ever gotten HIV?
Why are you not wearing animal skins?
( My personal favourite, this was said to a South African) Hey, I know a guy from Ghana, I think you might know him too!!
Hahaaaa!!!
So I was wondering if there are people out there who have heard of weird things about other countres/their own and would like to set the record straight!
Hahhaaaa!!
Well people from other countries believe that people that are from California U.S.A. has a beach in their backyard and it never rain there.

We are from Canada and have everything from Chinese and East Indian food to Swedish meatballs and everything in between. Lol, it's a real international mix, sometimes great, sometimes hard but culturally people learn much by ethnic design. Biker Dave
