His references you can find in "Wikipedia." under "Mongoloid." However a species means a group of living organisms consisting of similar individuals capable of exchanging genes or interbreeding. Thus, humans are, in fact, also a species. Mongoloid can mean having down syndrome but it can also mean: the relationship to the broad division of mankind including the indigenous peoples of eastern Asia, Southeast Asia, and the Arctic region of North America. Just to clear that little bit up is all...
When the hell did mongoloid mean a person has down syndrome?

Well then you must explain
Verses like this:

Ezra 9
1 Now when these things were done, the princes came to me, saying, The people of Israel, and the priests, and the Levites, have not separated themselves from the people of the lands, doing according to their abominations, even of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites, the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Egyptians, and the Amorites.
[SUP]2 [/SUP]For they have taken of their daughters for themselves, and for their sons: so that the holy seed have mingled themselves with the people of those lands: yea, the hand of the princes and rulers hath been chief in this trespass.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]And when I heard this thing, I rent my garment and my mantle, and plucked off the hair of my head and of my beard, and sat down astonied.
[SUP]4 [/SUP]Then were assembled unto me every one that trembled at the words of the God of Israel, because of the transgression of those that had been carried away; and I sat astonied until the evening sacrifice.
[SUP]5 [/SUP]And at the evening sacrifice I arose up from my heaviness; and having rent my garment and my mantle, I fell upon my knees, and spread out my hands unto the Lord my God,
[SUP]6 [/SUP]And said, O my God, I am ashamed and blush to lift up my face to thee, my God: for our iniquities are increased over our head, and our trespass is grown up unto the heavens.
[SUP]7 [/SUP]Since the days of our fathers have we been in a great trespass unto this day; and for our iniquities have we, our kings, and our priests, been delivered into the hand of the kings of the lands, to the sword, to captivity, and to a spoil, and to confusion of face, as it is this day.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]And now for a little space grace hath been shewed from the Lord our God, to leave us a remnant to escape, and to give us a nail in his holy place, that our God may lighten our eyes, and give us a little reviving in our bondage.
[SUP]9 [/SUP]For we were bondmen; yet our God hath not forsaken us in our bondage, but hath extended mercy unto us in the sight of the kings of Persia, to give us a reviving, to set up the house of our God, and to repair the desolations thereof, and to give us a wall in Judah and in Jerusalem.
[SUP]10 [/SUP]And now, O our God, what shall we say after this? for we have forsaken thy commandments,
[SUP]11 [/SUP]Which thou hast commanded by thy servants the prophets, saying, The land, unto which ye go to possess it, is an unclean land with the filthiness of the people of the lands, with their abominations, which have filled it from one end to another with their uncleanness.
[SUP]12 [/SUP]Now therefore give not your daughters unto their sons, neither take their daughters unto your sons, nor seek their peace or their wealth for ever: that ye may be strong, and eat the good of the land, and leave it for an inheritance to your children for ever.
[SUP]13 [/SUP]And after all that is come upon us for our evil deeds, and for our great trespass, seeing that thou our God hast punished us less than our iniquities deserve, and hast given us such deliverance as this;
[SUP]14 [/SUP]Should we again break thy commandments, and join in affinity with the people of these abominations? wouldest not thou be angry with us till thou hadst consumed us, so that there should be no remnant nor escaping?
[SUP]15 [/SUP]O Lord God of Israel, thou art righteous: for we remain yet escaped, as it is this day: behold, we are before thee in our trespasses: for we cannot stand before thee because of this.

Genesis 21:10
[SUP]10 [/SUP]Wherefore she said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac.

Genesis 24:2-4
[SUP]2 [/SUP]And Abraham said unto his eldest servant of his house, that ruled over all that he had, Put, I pray thee, thy hand under my thigh:
[SUP]3 [/SUP]And I will make thee swear by the Lord, the God of heaven, and the God of the earth, that thou shalt not take a wife unto my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell:
[SUP]4 [/SUP]But thou shalt go unto my country, and to my kindred, and take a wife unto my son Isaac.

Genesis 26:34-35

[SUP]34 [/SUP]And Esau was forty years old when he took to wife Judith the daughter of Beeri the Hittite, and Bashemath the daughter of Elon the Hittite:
[SUP]35 [/SUP]Which were a grief of mind unto Isaac and to Rebekah.

Genesis 28:1-3
1 And Isaac called Jacob, and blessed him, and charged him, and said unto him, Thou shalt not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan.

[SUP]2 [/SUP]Arise, go to Padanaram, to the house of Bethuel thy mother's father; and take thee a wife from thence of the daughers of Laban thy mother's brother.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]And God Almighty bless thee, and make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, that thou mayest be a multitude of people;

Deuteronomy 7:1-6
1 When the Lord thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and hath cast out many nations before thee, the Hittites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than thou;
[SUP]2 [/SUP]And when the Lord thy God shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt smite them, and utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto them:
[SUP]3 [/SUP]Neither shalt thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son.
[SUP]4 [/SUP]For they will turn away thy son from following me, that they may serve other gods: so will the anger of the Lord be kindled against you, and destroy thee suddenly.
[SUP]5 [/SUP]But thus shall ye deal with them; ye shall destroy their altars, and break down their images, and cut down their groves, and burn their graven images with fire.
[SUP]6 [/SUP]For thou art an holy people unto the Lord thy God: the Lord thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.

Nehemiah 13:23-27

[SUP]23 [/SUP]In those days also saw I Jews that had married wives of Ashdod, of Ammon, and of Moab:
[SUP]24 [/SUP]And their children spake half in the speech of Ashdod, and could not speak in the Jews' language, but according to the language of each people.
[SUP]25 [/SUP]And I contended with them, and cursed them, and smote certain of them, and plucked off their hair, and made them swear by God, saying, Ye shall not give your daughters unto their sons, nor take their daughters unto your sons, or for yourselves.
[SUP]26 [/SUP]Did not Solomon king of Israel sin by these things? yet among many nations was there no king like him, who was beloved of his God, and God made him king over all Israel: nevertheless even him did outlandish women cause to sin.
[SUP]27 [/SUP]Shall we then hearken unto you to do all this great evil, to transgress against our God in marrying strange wives?
These verses do not apply to Christians of different races marrying, but rather OT Israel and those under the Abrahamic Covenant.

Context is essential, please be careful.

God bless.

Hi all..just had to put this post out..As gods people we should be different from those around us and reflect the kingdom of god.Yet sometimes as human beings we are naturally challenged by many of our own personal views, bias ect which can be a real challenge again times.Yet we are all a work in progress under gods mighty hand.
Something happened recently that got me thinking about this issue of christians who find love and are from totally different races ie interracial christian dating/marriages.
my personal view is that it is totally acceptable and it is those around that sometimes have problems accepting this.I am aware that sometimes children whose parents are both from different race/culture can face bullying at school sometimes or made to feel there is something wrong with it all as well as their very own ethnicity.

what are your views on this issue?
would be great to hear what your thoughts are?
The two's Faith is important before they form a wife husband relationship..
Race is of no importance..
Differences in culture can cause some troubles though..

When the hell did mongoloid mean a person has down syndrome?
It started in the 1860s and began to fall out of use in the 1960s . It was believed that Down's syndrome demonstrated that all races were conducted. ( evolutionary throwback) that why the name was used . I lasted until the 1980s before polite society
compleatly removed it from everyday conversation.

Well in high school, in the mid 90s, it meant a grouping of people with similar physical characteristics from east Asia.

There are many, yet, cultural problems people face as mixed couples and with their children's treatment in society. Especially in certain regions of our Nation and planet. And I along with God am appalled by such lunacy in treatments. But we must not underscore the effects of these considerations as a person choosing such a choice in life. It does weigh in as a factor is all. I believe whomever God has placed together let no man put asunder or place apart. So, I think God and we as His Children are open to this, but it is in our cultural prejudices, say more from the south and parts like that in the USA where these things have to be worked out in our faithfulness to God in His way of thinking over our own.

So, both for the Christian that must overcome in the errors of their upbringing, and as a societal concern as well, these yet are concerns to ponder in individual choices, and issues we all need to pray for in intercessory prayer.
clearly slave understands since I couldn't really understand a word of his post.

Provided they are both Christians, there is no biblical problem with it. The Bible makes it very clear that in Christ race doesn't matter. That being said, there can sometimes be practical problems like language barriers or how you relate to life. (e.g. French are known for being demonstrative. The Scandinavians are known for their reserve. How is a marriage like that going to work? Not impossible, but something more to think about).

Darwin was a racist who thought all races were inferior to the caucasoid.
That's the real history of evolution theory.

Adam and Eve was momma and poppa to all. In the Biblical sense, you really can't mix a race, because there is only one.

Now, if you're talking tribe, tongue, and nation that's another story. I'd advise someone to be cautious with inter-cultural relationships.

But I'm in one and I'm happy. So ha.

God definitely see race and the Bible makes it clear. What I think is important to God is that we should be married to Christians, no matter what race. There are many Biblical men that got married to other races (Moses, Solomon, Boaz) and also Jewish ladies that got married to other races (Ester).

I live in a country where only whites can be racist (according to other ethnic groups) and the race card is a weapon. In church the boundaries are a bit more grey but race is a major issue in South Africa.

No matter how you slice it, South Africa's race relations problem makes America look like a walk in the park.

I'll pray for peace and justice in your nation as well as my own this evening.
